Pet care experience
Our family has taken care of many dogs over the years. We had a sweet lab/mutt who lived till 14 years old. We know how important it is to find reliable care. Having a sitter who can communicate well and fully understands your pet's needs is critical for your peace of mind to enjoy being away or when you are busy. For instance, we know most dogs need a solid long walk twice daily (no matter the weather!). ***Important: Dogs & Kids*** We have school-aged children who are safe with dogs. I know the warning signs in dogs who want a little break from kids (like they often yawn or stop tail-wagging) to avoid aggression. We can only watch dogs who have experience around children and aren't aggressive, so please mention that in your request message!
Reviews
Wonderful family. Our dogs were in great hands!
Janna and Steven did a great job with Sushi. It was our first time leaving Sushi with a sitter and I can’t recommend them enough. They are a very dog savvy family and Sushi got a lot of activity, enrichment and attention. They were great about following her routines. She got tons of playtime and walks. They were great about communication and sent tons of pictures and put our minds at ease. I would not hesitate to leave Sushi again with their loving family.
Janna and Steven were fabulous. They send photos of Hamish, who was clearly very happy there enjoying walks, cuddles and time in the garden.
I was so happy to find Janna and Steve to watch my dog. I was constantly updated with pictures and info as to how she was doing. They are clearly a family that loves dogs and I have the utmost confidence in them taking care of my dog. It was nice to be visiting with my family and having no worries about her. Your dog will love them!

We are used to securing food/trash from highly food-motivated dogs! We have a fenced backyard to play in if that’s ok. We always keep dogs on leashes on walks. If your dog needs to avoid other dogs, we will be extra careful on walks and do not host dogs from different families. In addition, we would make sure the dog and kids are safe together through supervision.

Information Janna & Steven C. would like to know about your pet
Before we agree to watch your dog, we need to know if they have been around kids and how they feel around other dogs on walks etc. It's important to know your dog's schedule, food needs, and when you will drop off and pick them up. Their favorite spot to scratch doesn't hurt to know : ) We wouldn't charge time for this meet and greet and would schedule it promptly.
A typical day
We would go on walks and play in our fenced yard with our kids. We can play games inside if they like and set up treats, puzzles, etc. We know most dogs need a good long walk at least twice a day, even if it's snowing, rainy, and cold- so your dog won't miss out on its exercise (plus, we get some, too!)! We work from home, so your dog will have company but should be quiet during meetings for a few hours.
Services
Janna & Steven can host
Availability
We are at home much of the work week (but working so we can give belly scratch breaks!). On weekends, your dog might be left for a few hours during the day while we may be out and about. We will take the dog on walks twice a day at minimum and include lots of outside playtimes and fetch.
