Hi! My name is Janine, my partner and I have three dogs (Theo, Ralph and Ripley). I have had dogs since I was a kid, but I also grew up on a farm and had a wide variety of animals (cats, horses, cows, pigs, hamsters, fish). My dogs and I are often found spending our free time outside doing various activities throughout the year! I am comfortable with all pets needs, and more than happy to adapt to keep your pet in routine. I am flexible with requests and schedules. Currently caring for pets in the Cochrane area - our home fencing will be completed by summer.

Janine would make a great dog caregiver. She is compassionate, caring, and very responsible with animals. She has been all hands on in the care of our family dog Sheila, our cats and had cared for and trained her own horse Luke from birth. She is patient and loves to have fun with animals. I know Sheila even though she’s 15 now looks forward to Janine’s visits and playtime with her favorite human.
Janine is a wonderful person. She is very engaged with volunteering in various activities with animals. She is very calm and loving with all animals. Janine is lovely with her own dog as well.

Within a clients home - I will follow whatever direction I am given regarding pet care. If pets arent allowed on furniture, I will reinforce that. If you have been working on a new behaviour you would like your dog to practice while I am with them - tell me about it and your expectations and I will ensure we are reinforcing that behaviour (ie. waiting for a cue before going out the door to walk).

Please let me know if you dog has any behaviours that may make walking challenging (ex. reactive, pull, likes to eat everything), this is solely so I know what I am watching for while with your pet for both their safety and mine. Please let me know if your pet has allergies, sensitive stomachs or a preferred treat - I like to keep a few in my pocket to ensure we are building a positive relationship and experience (typically beef liver if I am supplying them). Please let me know if you dog has any special requirements, or if your dog does require a meal around the time we go for our walk.
A typical day
I am more than happy to play with dogs in your yard or take them for long walks anywhere near by. I do prefer not to take dogs to public dog parks until I have had a consistent relationship with them. Dogs are walked within the same families only, I won't walk more than one house hold of dogs at a time. I won't put anyone dogs in an unfamiliar or dangerous situation.

Availability
I currently work shift work - you can ask what platoon! The schedule follows a 4 on 4 off rotation which makes me available for causal services or emergent. I will always do my best to fit your pet into my day!
