Dog loving, work from home mom
Pet care experience
I work from home with a lot of flexibility and have a large fenced in yard. Our family loves dogs of all kinds. We have a 3 yr old Keeshond and a 4 yr old Miniature Schnauzer Yorkie mix of our own who are fully vaccinated. My teenage son helps with pet care & walks. We practice dog training basics daily with our dog & those we pet sit for if alright with owners. (Sit, stay, leave it, take it, down, up & paw touch) We have a good, long term relationship with our vet for any emergencies that could arise. We lost our elderly (13 yrs old) dog after lengthy end of life care, as such we are experienced with senior pet care, deaf dog and blind dog care. I am also experienced at providing care for rescues who may be recovering from difficult circumstances. If this applies to your dog, please let me know how I can be mindful of their needs. Helping care for other dogs helps fill the space left after her loss and brings us all joy. If you are new to using Rover, as me about my $20 off promo code for first time bookings! Working from home with a flexible schedule allows me to provide regular walks, play time, attention, and companionship to your pet while you’re away. I like to approach pet sitting as if your dog is a member of our family while they are with us. I am able to flex to the needs of the dog I am asked to care for. Past clients have asked me to care for their pet in a variety of ways. From pet sitting in their home overnight, pet sitting in my home both short and long term (up to 2 weeks), intraday pet check-ins, mid-day dog walks, and doggie daycare in my home while they work or go to school. I have also cared for dogs who have special dietary needs, included preparing fresh meals of “human food” such as shredded or ground chicken.
Reviews
Janie, did a wonderful job taking care of our baby Bailey. She sent updates regularly & worked with us diligently on a pickup schedule post vacation. I could tell Bailey definitely has a new 2nd family! We will definitely reach out to have her take care of Bailey soon!
5 stars, as always!
Janie did an amazing job with Teddy! She made sure to keep us updated daily of his status and treated him like he was one of her own. She even noticed he was scratching a bit more than normal and asked to give him some medicine to relieve his itching. Her attention to detail is excellent. We will definitely be leaving Teddy with her next time we have to go out of town. 100% recommend her!
Janie saved me at last minute when I needed someone to was our Cash. She was great- sent pictures and communicated daily with updates. Would rebook again!

We keep our doors closed within the home and our dog, Klaus, sleeps in his kennel at night. We like to have the dogs we keep in the bed they’re most comfortable in at night, within a kennel.

Information Janie H. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if any special needs your pet has or preferences (such as a routine bed time). If you kennel train, please bring kennel for the stay. I have experience caring for amputee, deaf and blind dogs. It is helpful to know If your dog has been socialized with other dogs and if it is potty trained. I would be grateful for the name and contact information of your pet’s vet for any emergencies during boarding.
A typical day
I find it is important that dogs get plenty of opportunity to exercise in the yard through playing games with me, my son & our dogs. We are close to a dog park and greenway that we enjoy visiting. As a general practice, with consent from the owner, we also practice basic commands/training in tandem with our dog. Methods follow the standard Petco level 1 training plans.

I work from home, full-time, so I have plenty of time I’m the day to play, cuddle, and tend to the needs of the pets in my care. I am in graduate school so dependent on drop off or pick up time needs potentially conflicting with classes, my fiancé is always home while I am away and will assist with hand offs.
