I’m sure everybody says this, but I’m known in my family and friend circles as a dog whisperer. I don’t think this makes me a better person or anything, but just that the immediate connection is undeniable. I’ve always had this way with dogs and the affection is most definitely mutual. I also learned how to train and handle myself around man’s best friend from my father. Growing up we had such wonderful, obedient dogs named Pongos and Precious around the house––I assumed all dogs came that way. Of course dogs are loving, loyal beings, but they have unique personalities like us, and we all have our own way of doing things. It was only later that I realized my Dad had trained them as well as earned their unconditional adoration and trust from the way he treated them. You get what you put in, he’d always say.

Janice was absolutely wonderful with my cats. She even got the shyest to warm up to her after the first visit. And they all loved her! I can’t thank you enough for looking after my cats during the holidays and all the detailed updates and photos. I feel much better knowing Janice can handle them for any future trips.
Janice was wonderful with our cat! Ellie loved all the attention and everything was neat and clean when we got home. I really appreciated the detailed updates since Ellie is an older cat.

My other passion is staying active. I love the feeling of my heart pumping while I run. If your pup is up for some brisk exercise, jogging with a dog is so rewarding! There are some awesome trails we can explore together. If your pup is elderly or has special needs, I’ll adapt my level of care to make sure they are secure, comfortable, and happy. I’ve volunteered at a grooming spa for dogs, so I know how to pamper them too! I’m fully devoted to my pet sitting business, so my schedule is totally open and flexible, so please get in touch!

I believe my home is an exceptional place for dogs because I have a spacious apartment and access to a nice backyard. There is even extra space in the basement for any playing time. I absolutely love my neighborhood because we have access to many dog parks as well. I usually love taking dogs to the doggy parks or a regular park. Around here in Long Island City, we have about 3 different doggy parks with one being a run park for dogs, plus Gantry State Park is a great place to go for a jog with dogs. After we both get lots of fresh air and sun, we’ll come back for lots of cuddles and belly rubs.
A typical day
To provide exceptional customer service, I’m always on time to all my meet and greets. I’m happy to come to your home or a public space you and your pup are comfortable with. During my meet and greets, I like to get as much information about your dog, including diet, allergies, medications, triggers, routines, etc. My main concern will be if your dog gets along with children and other dogs, so I can be aware how to handle them around strangers. It’s important to me that I keep everyone safe and secure. I often volunteer to walk your dog myself while speaking with you to get a real sense of your dog’s personality and temperament style. Clear and open communication is key, so I’ll send regular updates via text and photos to make sure you are kept informed of all our activities together. I’m available day and night, so please don’t hesitate to reach out.

I don’t have a dog at the moment, but during this transitional phase of my life, I’d love to do my part to help people find temporary havens for their beloved pets. I raised a Jack Russell Terrier Poodle mixed puppy named Snoopy until he passed away after eighteen years by my side. I’m still getting over the loss. I remember the day Snoopy came into our lives when I was 13 years old. A friend of the family couldn’t keep him, so when I begged my Dad to have us keep him. He said yes, on the one condition that I learn how to be the primary caretaker. Being a young tween, of course I thought I knew everything there was to know about nurturing a puppy. Wrong. Snoopy taught me so many incredible and challenging life lessons over the years, I’m a better person for it. I quickly realized it wasn’t just about horsing around or snuggling while watching movies. I learned how to keep him warm since he was only two weeks old, bottle fed him, carried wee wee pads with me, made sure all his vaccinations were up-to-date and potty trained him on top of walking and providing plenty of exercise. I learned that dogs are just playthings but living, breathing, feeling, sensitive souls with boundless energy that needs proper outlets.
