Pet care experience
Between us, my husband John and I have over 50 years of dog care experience. John was a British Army dog handler and dog section commander covering all aspects of dog care and continuation training. We have both loved our own dogs and then together raised a family with the assistance of our beloved dog Baxter. Sadly he recently passed at the grand old age of 16.

We cannot rate Jan and John highly enough. Our boy is the absolute love of our lives and he was taken such good care of. From the moment Chester met them he was happy and very comfortable. Communication was great and we picked up a very happy boy indeed when we got home. It was his birthday whilst with J&J and they even bought him a cake and celebrated with him, sending us pics. Wonderful couple and so grateful to them for looking after our boy. Will 100% use again.
Hunter had a lovely time and settled in so quickly. Janice & John treated him as one of their own offering lovely updates throughout the weekend. Thank you both so much ?
He came home happy and content.

We have a secure fenced rear garden for your dog to enjoy and a relaxed attitude towards dog comfort inside our home. Apart from local woodland walks we also have a local green literally on our doorstep, perfect for short walks and toilet breaks.

Please let me know if your dog has any special requirements/routines so that we can make sure they are happy whilst staying with us. We can give them all the care and attention that they are used to. We will only board 1 dog at a time or 2 from the same family and will have day care dogs alongside. Maximum of 2 dogs in the house at any one time during the day.
A typical day
We are very lucky to have Castle Woods and Oxleas meadows and woods within walking distance of our home. We also have a very large green right outside our house which is very popular with lots of local dogs and their families. Feel free to bring your doggy’s favourite toys with you too as we can also play in the garden.

We are both retired in our very early 60’s and home all day so your dog will never be left alone and will have all the love and attention they need. We enjoy walks in our local woodland which is perfect for your dog.
