I grew up with dachshunds and have been watching neighbors and friends dogs for 15+ years. I have had 2 rescue dogs of my own, Diesel, a 9lb yorkie who was severely abused prior to me getting him (went to dog heaven in 2020), and Denver, a 25lb terrier mix who had a rough beginning but is now living a great life! My husband and I both work full time about 15 minutes away from our house. We have to leave our pup for about 9 hrs a day during the work week so we kick every morning off with a 1-2 mile walk. We have a large, fenced yard (w/ a doggie door) where our dog spend lots of time playing fetch and hiding bones. We are extremely active and take several long walks or hikes on the weekends. Our dog runs the house and so will yours when they stay with us! Dogs are allowed on most of our furniture and our dog sleeps with us at night. We walk our dog daily (usually twice a day) and would be happy to bring your dog (s) along! I am familiar with senior dog care, having one of my own that passed away in 2020. I understand that all dogs are unique in their personalities and needs...we are extremely active but love lounging and cuddling on the couch with our dog at night.
