Pet care experience
Hello! We are a happy, relaxed family who would love welcoming your cherished pet into our home while you travel! I have a lot of dog-fostering and rescue experience, particularly with shy, nervous and/or formerly abused dogs. We have a 1/3 acre fenced yard so there's plenty of room for your pal to run, play or lounge in the sun in a safe and secure space. We Iive in subdivision with woods nearby, so your sweet dog can take walks in either location! I have a 10 year old son who loves animals, and Ellie, our miniature Mastiff (65 lbs), who hasn't met anyone--dog or human-- who isn't her best friend. My profile says that I allow pets on the furniture; I will conform to your preference. If you allow it, I will too. If you don't, I won't. The "business" side of things: 1) Even dogs that are completely housebroken at home can behave differently in a new environment. I keep disposable doggie-wraps on hand for any guests who can't hold their bladder. I ask that you reimburse me if I need them for your dog. I work on the honor system: I promise that I will ask for reimbursement only if your dog showed a real need, if you promise to reimburse me for the costs associated with caring for your pet. You are of course welcome to provide them yourself if you prefer. 2) Please trim your dog's nails before arriving. I love dogs and I love my hardwood floors! :-) 3) Crating: Until I know your dog well, I will crate him/her when I leave the house. This is for your dog's protection. Even the most trustworthy dog at home can behave differently in an unfamiliar place. Crates provide security and prevent him/her from harming himself/herself. Occasionally I meet a dog who gets so anxious in a crate that s/he really can't tolerate it...if this is your dog, let's talk. But in general, until I know your dog, I use a crate. 4) Daycare hours are between 8:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. I'm happy to discuss longer hours if you need them. 5) Dog boarding is in 24 hour increments, meaning that if you drop your dog off at 10:00 a.m,. please plan on picking up close to 10 a.m. I'm happy to discuss longer hours if you need them. 6) Please tell me what your dog's "favorites" are. I want to make his/her stay as relaxing and fun as possible, and no one knows your dog better than you!

I'm so happy we found Janet! Janet and her dog Ellie provided a wonderful stay for our gal Bee Gee during our long vacation! Janet is experienced and knowledgeable, and made Bee Gee feel like one of the family, and she became great buddies with Ellie. She has a large fenced backyard space which provided lots of room from romping. Bee Gee came home tired and happy - thanks so much for taking such great care of our gal!
My husband and I have had Janet sit for our dogs (Lab mixes) three times now while we travel, and it's always been a wonderful experience! They always come home happy and tired. There's plenty of space to run around in the house and backyard. Definitely recommend!
Charley loves staying with Janet and playing with her dog Ellie! She ensures he takes his medication and gives him lots of attention and time outside. Definitely recommend!
Janet was super responsive and helpful, and my dog seemed to have had a great time during her stay!
