Huge fenced backyard playground!
Pet care experience
My husband and I are both huge animal lovers, empty nesters, and recently retired, so we have plenty of time to enjoy caring for our own and other people’s furry family members. Our only pet right now is a rescue kitty named Olive. We lost our beloved yellow lab, Zoey and we have made the decision to not fill her spot in our family with another dog to afford us the freedom to travel. That is where being a pet sitter with Rover comes in. It allows us to love on other people’s dogs for our dog fix, but still travel as we choose. I am reliable and level headed and provide a safe and nurturing environment, tailoring each experience to the unique needs of every animal friend. You can be sure your pet will be treated as a part of my family.
Reviews
We’re so fortunate to have found Janet! Janet and her husband treated my dog as if he’s their own and kept me updated with pictures throughout the stay. I could tell my dog loves them. 100% happy with them!!!
Janet and hubby took wonderful care of my furbaby while I was away for a week. They doted on my girl and gave her lots of love and personal attention. My dog is timid and they didn't hesitate and worked with her every day giving her lots of love and kisses. Sent photos and videos as I requested while I was gone to see how she was doing. Janet asked lots of questions to make sure make sure that my dog was taken care of the way I would when she was at home. Would highly recommend Janet to anyone for their pets and will definitely book with her next time we go out of town!
Janet took wonderful care of my senior pup Shiloh! She sent several photos and video updates of my girl running around in their large backyard, set her up with a cozy spot by the window and made she sure Shiloh got all her medication. I would definitely use Janet’s services again in the future.
I can't recommend Janet A. enough for loving pet care. Both she and her husband are good with cats and dogs. Their home is clean and tidy and I feel secure leaving my 3 cats with them. I really appreciated Janet sending me photos and videos of her interaction with my cats.

A little about us-we had a yellow lab for almost 16 years. She slowly lost the strength in her back legs so I know what it is to care for an elderly dog. We did everything we could to give her wonderful quality of life as long as possible. We live in a great, safe neighborhood and have a large, fenced back yard for your dog to get plenty of room to roam, play and sniff while staying with us. We request meet and greets prior to caring for your pet to make sure everyone feels comfortable. We require that your dog is not aggressive towards cats. If you are unsure, we can schedule a meet and greet with our kitty to find out.

Information Janet A. would like to know about your pet
I would like to know your pet’s normal daily schedule to try and keep things consistent, specifically feeding, potty, walk schedule. I appreciate knowing any information about habits, fears or special needs he/she may have. Any information you can provide helps make your pets stay more enjoyable. Because we have a cat, dogs we keep in our home must not be aggressive towards cats. If your dog dislikes cats, our home would not be a good fit.
A typical day
I love interacting with dogs and I understand their pack instinct. Your dog will be included in my daily activities around the house and in the yard as much as s/he wants. For exercise, we can play in our large, fenced back yard or walk in our neighborhood. Of course, feel free to bring favorite toys for us to play with. In the winter we have a warm fire to curl up in front of. Because this is Iowa, I want you to know that if there is dangerous weather, every effort will be made to include your pet with our own when we seek shelter in the basement. I am happy to text photos to you throughout the stay, so you can see what your pet is up to.
