Dedicated loving care for fuzzies
Pet care experience
I have been taking care of a variety of pets since I was 11. I have experience working with a large range animals, including dogs 🐶, cats🐈🐈⬛️, small and exotic animals like:ferrets, rats🐀, hamsters🐹, mice🐁, turtles🐢, snakes 🐍 and more. In my free time I volunteer as part of the Oregon Humane Society's dog walking team, and small animal handling. I'm definitely an animal person! I care a lot about making your pets happy and comfortable. 💕 I understand what it's like to intrust someone else with your animals and so I always like to send lots of photos and updates so you can see just how much fun we are having together.
Reviews
I realizer Ty is a handful but I really appreciate the time and love you have for him. Thank you. Also I’ll take the pointers you gave me.
We've had Janelle check in on our cats several times and she has been thoughtful and attentive throughout, especially with our cats being so shy. We appreciate her and will continue to book with her in the future.
Your search for an incredibly devoted, thoughtful, experienced, and trustworthy pet sitter is over! Beyond being a joy to work with, Janelle is professional, so communicative, and clearly cares so much about animals. I had so much confidence my dog George would be well taken care of in her home, and that confidence only grew during my trip! Janelle sent so many great updates, and provides such enriching, safe, and knowledgeable care - my dog had a vacation of his own with her! Very accommodating to our unique needs as well. I will absolutely be booking with Janelle in the future - thank you Janelle for providing such a great experience for both me and George!
Thank you so much. Ty is beyond happy to see us but I’m sure he’ll miss you and his friends.

Please read carefully! I have several regular day care dogs in my home often! I require meet and greets for dogs to make sure it's a good fit for our home. I also have a dog of my own, and I am a rover sitter, who sits 1-3 dogs at a time. I ask that all animals I'm boarding be up to date on vaccines, and spayed or neutered, as well as crate trained. Please provide clear and detailed care instructions as well as everything they'll need: food, medicine, favorite toys, ect. It can be helpful to bring their bed or even just a blanket that smells like you to help with any separation anxiety. For reactive dogs, exotics with complex set ups, and cats, I generally recommend house sitting over boarding. On top of pet sitting this can double as house sitting, so I can bring your mail in, water your plants, etc. I understand how stressful it can be leaving your pets behind when you need to go out of town, so please feel free to reach out, set up a time to meet before deciding to move forward with pet sitting. We can discuss your individual pets needs and if boarding in my house, vs pet sitting in yours is the best fit.

Information Janelle K. would like to know about your pet
I need to know any and all medical or health concerns with your pets and who their primary vet is just in case. I also would like to know some general information about their personality, what kinds of things they like, or dislike so that I can ensure they get the best care possible. Your best bet to ensure I can care for your pet as you would want is to provide me with detailed instructions (written or email is ok). Things like feeding schedule, medication needs and allergies are good things to know. I'd also like to know any behavioral concerns, such as door darting, separation anxiety, leash pulling, resource guarding and dog reactivatness. (Please don't be worried about it affecting your ability to book with me, I see all kinds of highly reactive dogs in need of rehabilitation at the humane society, and am more than equipped to handle whatever your animals needs might be). Your care sheet should also include your contact information, a primary vet information as well as an emergency contact information.
A typical day
I love to explore and hike! Rain or shine if your dog is ready for an adventure so am I. Especially over the weekends, expect your higher energy dogs to be adventure pals for the day! Of course, on rainy days movies and board games in the house with your snuggle bugs are always the best! I am used to caring for a range of mental and physical stimulation needs so I will tailor my activities to your pets needs.

I run my own art based business from home! Pet sitting animals is a great way for me to earn extra income with my schedule. It is my top priority that the animals I am looking after are happy and healthy. For the most part I make my own schedule, and can adjust as needed depending on your pets needs. For high energy dogs I love to give them lots of exercise, be it a long walks, taking them to the dog park or hikes, as well as mental stimulation with new experiences and some fun training. For cats and more mellow dogs I'll play some games in the home and then let them snuggle close by on the couch with me. My schedule is very flexible, but and am part of the Oregon Humane Societies Dog walking team Friday evenings and this is something I don't like to miss. If you have questions about scheduling just ask! I am very flexible, and able to work with pretty much anyone's pet care needs.
