I’m back in Sacramento by popular demand and accepting new clients! I have 17 years of professional pet care experience caring for pets of all types, sizes, and ages - from fish to frogs to guinea pigs, puppies to seniors, from a 3-pound Yorkie to a 160-pound Great Dane (and her litter of 5!) In my 6 years with Rover I have met nearly 90 families completing 700 bookings of various lengths averaging about 1,100 visits each year and I have loved getting to meet so many new furry friends! Are you working from home and your dog won't stop nagging you to go to the park? Are you getting sad puppy dog eyes since returning to the office? Too tired or not enough time at the end of your workday for a trip to the park or a walk around the block? I know just the trick… schedule a few visits with your best friend’s new best friend and I’ll make sure you come home to a happy, tired pup who got mental and physical stimulation while you were productive at the office or away on a trip. I have had pets of my own throughout my life, from Cinnamon the guinea pig, to Sassafras the cat, and a variety of dogs. I currently belong to two toy poodle mixes, Harper and Rita, who are mother and daughter. They are spoiled in every sense of the word and I wouldn't have it any other way. I have a special place in my heart for rescues. I am well versed in canine and feline body language and can accommodate those who may not play well with others, have light special needs (medication, assistance with stairs, deaf or blind, etc.), or may need some extra time to warm up to new faces. They all have individual personalities and I look forward to getting to know theirs!

Janelle was great! We’ve had some not so great sitters in the past and were a bit apprehensive to say the least. Janelle was very communicative, on-time, courteous of our home, and was very playful and hands on with our pup. We got photos at the beginning of the day and at night. We will definitely be using Janelle in the future!
Excellent! Janelle is very personable and extremely knowledgeable about dog behaviors. My husky took right to her and was so happy after her walk. I will definitely hire Janelle again.

I take extra precautions to keep your home and your pets safe and am proud to say I have an impeccable record with no accidents, emergencies, or escapees. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to make your pet more comfortable during my time with them. Helpful notes would include things they love (fetch), things they don’t love (other dogs, being picked up), any guarding or aggression over food/treats/their humans/their home, any separation anxiety, and if I should steer clear of other dogs/people while out for a walk, etc. What others consider going above and beyond, I consider standard operating procedure. Let me know how I can go above and beyond for you and your pet. My goal is to make both pet and parent as comfortable and at ease as possible.
A typical day
A visit with me includes a potty break (or litter box freshening), fresh food/water, some play time, a treat, and lots of affection. We enjoy long walks around the neighborhood, playing fetch at the park, or play time and cuddle puddles inside. For my more mellow pup clients we spend lots of time soaking up the sunshine. For my more active pups, we'll jog around the block, or I've been known to get on the floor and wrestle with the best of 'em! I can also provide basic behavior modification, leash etiquette and obedience training. If you’re taking a trip I’m happy to bring in any packages and mail, turn the porch lights on, take out the trash and make sure the bin goes to the curb for pickup. For my weekly clients I offer locked rates, pet errands to stock up on their favorite supplies, and chauffeur services for drop off/pick up at the groomer, daycare, etc. I have recently discovered a hidden talent for pet photography and I love capturing your companion's personality in a photo and in my update messages after each visit.
