I found my passion for animal care when I worked as a volunteer at the Longmont Humane Society several years back. I also grew up with a variety of different animals and I have a few pets of my own! I have a kitty, an Ornate Box Turtle, and several fish. EXPERIENCE: Every pet has their own specific needs and I will always make sure that those needs are met! •I am experienced with special needs animals, animals with medical conditions, animals with behavioral issues, animals with separation/general anxiety, and senior animals. •I can administer oral, topical, and injection medications. •I am First Aid and CPR Certified for cats and dogs. •While I mainly care for dogs and cats I also have experience with less common pets such as; birds, turtles, lizards, snakes, frogs, freshwater and saltwater fish, crustaceans, tarantulas, bunnies, ferrets, hamsters, mice, chinchillas, chickens, goats, etc.
Reviews
We are so lucky to have Janelle care for Max! She is patient and kind to him and always extremely communicative. I’m so glad we have the chance to work with her!
Janelle is always so kind and patient with Max! I can tell from the photos she shares that he feels comfortable with her 🐾🖤
Janelle is so kind, gentle, and patient with Max. She’s super communicative and always willing to do whatever he needs. I’m so grateful I found her and I know Max is too! I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a pet care professional. It’s still hard to close the door and leave Max at home every morning now that I’m working outside the house again but I feel so much better knowing Janelle will be by to care for him while I’m gone! 🐾🖤
Janelle has given our skinny old cat - and our not-at-all skinny middle aged cat - personalized and loving care several times now. I feel completely confident leaving them in her hands for two weeks at a time. And I love to hear that my shy pets come to greet her at the door. I appreciate her attentiveness to detail and to their challenging diets (Not-Skinny is a scarf-and-barf cat, Skinny is on meds). Thanks, Janelle - we'll see you again soon!

SERVICE AREA: I live and work in Longmont but I can travel to neighboring cities for bookings as well. I can travel to parts of Lyons, Bethoud, Mead, Niwot, and west Firsetone. However, I have limitations as to how far I can travel. I will charge a travel fee for any booking that exceeds 10 miles from my home. Unfortunately, I cannot travel further than 15 miles for any booking due to time and expense restrictions. ***Please check the second photo in my photo album to see my service area. ACTIVITIES: I love providing animals with stimulating and enjoyable activities during our visits. •With dogs we may take a walk around the neighborhood and explore all the new smells or visit the park. We might also play with toys, cuddle, work on basic training, go to the dog park, take a trip to the reservoir or a nearby nature trail. I will adjust our activities to your dogs specific needs. For any activities that requiring driving (going to the dog park, reservoir, etc) I will charge an additional fee for travel based on the distance and time requirements. •With cats we might play with their kitty wands or laser pointers, cuddle, spend some time building trust, or I may leave them be if that's what they prefer. •With other kinds of animals (reptiles, amphibians, birds, fish, and farm animals) we tend to interact less but I am more than willing to spend some time with them doing things they enjoy. ADDITIONAL SERVICES: I can also provide other services such as bringing in mail and packages, watering plants, washing pet dishes, etc. I do not charge for these services. However, if you have a non pet related task that will take a longer amount of time (such as watering many plants) I will charge an additional fee for my time. CANCELLATION POLICY: •Drop-In Visits: I have a seven day cancellation policy for drop-in visits. This means that bookings need to be canceled before 12pm a full week before the start date of your stay in order to receive a full refund. Any bookings canceled after that time will receive a 50% refund. •Dog Walks: I have a one day cancellation policy for dog walks. This means that bookings need to be canceled before 12pm a full day before the start date of your stay in order to receive a full refund. Any bookings canceled after that time will receive a 50% refund. PROMO CODE: Ask me for my promo code and receive $20 off your first booking. The promo code only applies to those who have never booked anything on Rover before.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: I do not have any breed restrictions. I accept dogs of all breeds and animals of all kinds. I am able to work with dogs with behavioral issues as long as there is no threat to my safety or the safety of others. When getting to know a new animal I always prefer to know their routine, boundaries, behavioral habits, triggers, training, medical history, and any other usual information first so I can care for them to the best of my ability.
