Pet care experience
**Please note I am currently not taking on new clients** I would love to help you feel comfortable and confident when leaving your dog in the care of another. I have 12 years of pet sitting and personal pet care experience in addition to 2 years working professionally for a large rescue in the US at a management level. I am experienced handling all sizes of dogs (and cats!), administering medications (including injections), and working with boisterous, nervous, and reactive dogs. I am passionate about reward based behaviour modification and dog training and am happy to continue any training you've been working on while caring for your dog. If you're just looking for someone to show your dog some love and have a rule free weekend, I'm great at that too! I'm available for dog walks at almost any time of day and am also available for in home visits or home sitting. I am a graduate student and work from home. Since I also have my own dog, I would not be able to stay at your home 24/7 since I will need to leave for a little while to meet up with my partner to walk my own dog too (unless your dog wouldn't mind having a friend over to play!). Unfortunately my partner and I live in a flat at the moment which is too small to host a dog in addition to ours. I also love taking photographs of pets with my camera and am happy to take some while dog sitting (you can see some of my photos on instagram under the name pups_and_primates).

Jana is the number one person I would ever trust with my dogs. She has a huge passion for animals and is extremely responsible. She is amazing with even the most timid dogs and has a lot of knowledge in animal behavior. If you are looking for someone who will treat your dogs like their own then Jana is the pet sitter for you.
I've seen Jana care for several dogs at different points in time. She is a very loving person and cares deeply about the welfare of her dogs. It is important to her that the dogs in her care are properly enriched through various types of play, sniffing practise, treats, and anything else that the dog enjoys doing. She has very extensive knowledge of how to care for pets after working in animal welfare and is always looking out for the dog's safety and well being.

I am open to any and all dogs, including dogs with behavioural issues, fear of strangers, etc. I have experience fostering many dogs for shelters in the US and have worked with a wide range of dogs. I do not offer training services, but am happy to work your existing training routine into my dog sitting. Reward based training is a great way to build a bond, engage your dog mentally, and make them happy!
A typical day
I'm happy to take your dog on long walks at your preferred park, canal walk, etc. or take them on a run if needed (while I can keep up at least!). I love working training or nose work into walks and am happy to do so at request.
