We are The Emerson's - family of 6, five humans and our beloved Golden Retriever, Kona! We would love to be your dog's home away from home. Both my husband and I had dog(s) growing up in our parents home. My husband is the son of a small and large animal veterinarian who grew up helping out in the family veterinary practice both in the clinic setting and out at local dairy farms. As a child, my family had smaller mutt breeds while my husbands family have a deep love for Golden Retrievers. That love for the Golden breed spilled over and Kona-Girl is our 2nd Golden Retriever we've had as a married couple. She is an extension to our family; considered another one of our kiddos. We also loved so much our first "kids", a Papillon who passed away a couple years ago at 14 years old and Addy our first Golden Retriever. Dogs are the BEST! We promise to care for your dog as we do our own, providing a safe, loving, fun environment for your dog to thrive in which, will allow you peace of mind when you have to be away from your pet. Our Golden Kona loves having playmates both dog and human. We have 3 daughters who range in age from 5 to 12 years. If your dog does not get along with kids or other dogs, we are NOT a good fit for you. Our girls are gentle with dogs but they are kids and they do run about our home.

Jamie and Zachary were so amazing and great! It gave me such peace to know that my pup was so well cared for. I especially appreciated the pictures and videos throughout his stay that gave me such assurance. I am beyond grateful for how accommodating and understanding they were with my timing for drop off and pick up!

Zoe was glad to see me when I arrived to pick her up from daycare, but she did a disappearing act while I was visiting with Jamie. I guess she wanted to stay and play with the other dogs and kids awhile longer. Always a good sign! She was exhausted when we got home so I knew she got plenty of exercise and playtime. I will be taking Zoe here again!
Jamie, Zachary and their children took great care of River. They showed her a lot of love . They kept me updated on her eating, behavior and activities. I received photos and videos daily. This is the family you would want to leave your dog with when you’re out of town.

We live in a Southwest Nampa, on a quiet no outlet Drive. Lakeshore Animal Hospital is just about 5 minutes away in case of an emergency. The Nampa Dog Park and Greenbelt is also nearby. We have a fully fenced, large backyard with lots of grass! There is plenty of room to run, play, chase a ball, or just relax in the grass, on the patio, or in the house. We do not allow pets on our furniture however, your dog is welcome to bring their own bed, snuggle blanket, etc. that they need to feel comfortable in our home. We always offer a meet and greet opportunity before you book with us for your peace of mind. This ensures we are a good fit for you and your dog(s) and vice versa. Give us a call, we can arrange to meet you and your babes to see our home and decide for yourself if we are a perfect match. :) We boldly request that your dog(s) get along well with other dogs and kids and are potty trained to not urinate or defecate in the home. We understand accidents and illness happen from time to time. We do not want dogs who mark their territory in our home. We also ask for your furry friend to be well groomed, does not have to be professional but freshly bathed (within the past week) prior to arrival. We love dogs but do not believe our home needs to smell like a dog kennel. We strive to be a safe place for all dogs to come without worry. Being a reputable sitter to us means that we require all dogs to be current on their vaccines.

Let me know of any special needs or behaviors to be aware of. We understand you love your pup but dogs, like humans are not perfect. Being transparent is important to us. We want to provide the safest environment for our family members as well as for your furry friend.
A typical day
We enjoy our backyard very much and have tons of room for play. We also like walking along the local greenbelt and at a local pond with a paved walking path. We have lots of dog toys and 3 kiddos to keep your pup entertained!

Availability
We have plenty of free time and lots of love to share with your dog! As shift workers, a Registered Nurse and Firefighter/Paramedic., one of us will be home everyday while your dog is staying with us. We are able to administer any and all injections and/or medications as needed. Your dog will be safe and always get plenty of love and attention. Special needs dogs are welcome! Your instructions for feeding, medications, and sleeping will be followed as you request. We are knowledgeable and believe in crates if you prefer or open sleeping is perfectly fine as well. Dogs are indoors and outdoors at their request throughout the day and nighttime sleep is inside the house unless otherwise requested.
