I'll pamper your dog!

Hello! My name is Jamie, and I am a full-time journalist AND dog lover. I grew up with dogs, and have dog sat for many friends and family members. I am known to pamper dogs. I also pay attention to certain quirks and needs for each dog (i.e. if a certain dog needs a certain type of food element added to its dish, or if a certain dog is more timid - I am your ...

What Jamie would like to know about your dog

I only ask dog owners to tell me:
-Typical schedule for the dogs. i.e. what time they usually go to the bathroom, eat, and walk. That helps me plan it out.
- Personality traits. Is the dog timid? social? Does the dog need extra attention in certain areas?
- Does the dog have any illness that I need to be aware of? If so - what is it and what should I take note of when caring for the dog?
- Also, I think it's really important to go over the dog's behaviors while walking. Is the dog known to pull while walking? If so - I'm only a 5'3 woman so it might not be best for me, or the owner, to walk a large dog that could either drag me or get away from me. That's really important to me!

When Jamie watches your pet

Rover doesn't let me get into specifics about my schedule. Basically - I am available to house sit during the week-days.. it will just have to be either in the early morning, one hour during the day, and at night (as I work a 9-6 schedule M-F). And I'm open on weekends (barring if I have weddings or big events).

For walks - it really depends on the dogs. I've walked dogs that don't like to be around other dogs. For those dogs - I typically walk them in neighborhoods, or in park areas where you don't see a lot of dogs (i.e avoid *dog* specific parks). For dogs that love being around other dogs - I'll certainly take them to a dog park, or stick to the neighborhood. It honestly depends on what the owner tells me! I understand dogs are like babies!

For fun activities - I love walking dogs and taking them to events. There are a lot of cool dog-friendly places here in San Diego, where I would totally be open to taking dogs too (if owners want their dogs to be more social). We can always talk about boundaries, likes and dislikes, etc.
