Pet care experience
Hello! My name is Jamie, and I am a full-time communications specialist AND dog/cat lover. I volunteer at Whiskers & Wine Bar - where I am trained to identify stress or medical conditions in cats. I have sat for many friends, family members, & strangers. I pay attention to certain quirks and needs for each dog and cat (i.e. if a certain dog /cat needs a certain type of food element added to its dish, or if a certain dog is more timid - I am your dog whisperer). My friends describe me as the "dog whisperer" because I am known to get along with every dog (timid or not). I also take note of what the owner wants for their dog. So if you need someone with great attention to detail: I am the right person!

Jamie is the best ❤️
Jamie is amazing! She goes above and beyond with my two cats (4 years old and 11 months old). Thank you so much Jamie! I truly appreciate it❤️
Our cat adores Jamie! He probably likes for us to go on vacation so he can see Jamie more haha But truly she is great and goes above and beyond, so recommend! 🙂
Jamie always takes great videos and pictures, as well as detailed updates. I always feel at ease when I’m gone, knowing she’s taking great care of my kitty babies. Thank you!

My cat is spoiled! I give her a brushing every other day, always make sure she has fresh food/water, and scoop her litter box once a day (wash once a week). I treat the cats I care for at W&W the same. For litter, I am experienced with automated and manual litter boxes. For water, I know how to clean and fill water fountains.
Information Jamie R. would like to know about your pet
I ask dog or cat owners to tell me: -Typical schedule/routine. - Personality traits. Is the dog or cat timid? social? Does the dog or cat need extra attention in certain areas? - Health. Does the dog or cat have any illness I need to be aware of? If so - what is it and what should I take note of when caring for the dog or cat? - Behavior. Is the dog known to pull while walking? If so - I'm only a 5'3 woman so it might not be best for me, or the owner, to walk a large dog that could either drag me or get away from me.
A typical day
Rover doesn't let me get into specifics about my schedule. Basically - I am available for drop-ins during the weekdays. It will just have to be either in the early morning, during the lunch hour, or at night (as I work a 9-6 schedule M-F). And I'm open on weekends (barring if I have weddings or big events). For walks - it depends on the dogs. I've walked dogs that don't like to be around other dogs. For those dogs - I typically walk them in neighborhoods, or in park areas where you don't see a lot of dogs (i.e avoid *dog* specific parks). For dogs that love being around other dogs - I'll certainly take them to a dog park, or stick to the neighborhood. It honestly depends on what the owner tells me! I understand dogs are like babies! For fun activities - I love walking dogs and taking them to events. There are a lot of cool dog-friendly places here in San Diego, where I would be open to taking dogs too (if owners want their dogs to be more social). We can always talk about boundaries, likes, dislikes, etc.

Availability
I can always make time for animals! I work full-time from home, so I can do one drop-in per week day. Saturdays are more flexible and can do 2-3 drop ins. Sundays I do church and volunteer work and can handle 1-2 drop ins.
