Pet care experience
My name is Jamie and I am an avid animal person! I’ve been taking care of others’ pets or my own for nearly my entire life and I would love to talk to you about taking care of your furry friends. Let me tell you a little about myself. I currently reside in Montclair, NJ, just a few steps away from Glen Ridge and a short drive from Bloomfield. I am extremely passionate about animal welfare. Until recently, I had two beloved pets, Bandit (tabby cat, passed away at 18 years in 2020) and Whipple (American Eskimo/Shepherd mix, passed away at 14 years in 2016), both of which were rescued from shelters in California. I take a lot of pride in the fact that they were healthy, happy, and incredibly loved members of my family. Currently, I volunteer with Montclair Township Animal Shelter and while living in San Diego, I volunteered with Shelter Pet Partners for five years. During my time volunteering there, I fostered and helped find loving homes for several kittens, cats, and dogs. I have experience with pets of all ages and temperaments and am comfortable administering medications. I have excellent references and am looking forward to providing excellent care for your pets!

Jamie is absolutely incredible! We trusted her for a week out of town while she stayed at our place with our two pups. Our older one has high medical needs and diet restrictions and Jamie was fantastic about her feeding schedule/routine and administering her meds. Our other pup is very fearful of new people and took to Jamie within 24h! They both absolutely loved her. The daily updates and photos were so fun to receive and Jamie also took excellent care of our home and left it extremely tidy when she left. Having Jamie stay with our babies made for a relaxing trip because we knew they were in such good hands.
Jamie is so great with our pups! We have a rescue that is very timid and she is super patient with her. She is diligent and reliable, would highly recommend!
Jamie was wonderful! She was simultaneously professional and kind from the very first contact. She responded quickly, set up a thorough, detailed and helpful meet and greet in advance, arrived early and communicated with us throughout the visit about Ollie’s experience with reassuring texts and photos. Our dog really took to Jamie’s confident and sweet manner and had an easy an great time—no small feat for a pup with separation anxiety. We will definitely be using her again!
When we met Jamie, we knew our pet would be in very capable hands! Our cat is extremely shy & afraid of new people, but Jamie had “Dodger” cuddling in 1day! We highly recommend her. She’s the best! A grateful, Doreen, Ken & Dodger C.

When I am asked by clients for an overnight stay, I do everything I can to make your pet feel safe and comfortable. Depending on their personality, we can play, walk to a nearby dog park, or cuddle on the couch - whatever your pet prefers!

A typical day
Dogs - We'll go on multiple walks a day, with at least one longer walk - perhaps to a new location or favorite dog park. We can play with toys, earn treats, and save time for ear scratches or belly rubs. Cats - Meal time will always be on schedule, as I know that's important to a lot of my feline friends. We can play with a favorite mouse toy, spend time cuddling, or - if your cat is the shy, independent type - allow them their space to explore and nap as they please.
