Pet care experience
I'm an experienced special-needs cat parent, and cannot wait until I can adopt my own dog. Until then I have the joy of spoiling my sister's, friend's, and coworker's fur babies, and have even more love to share still! I'm happy to care for all animals, with a soft spot for both cats and dogs. I love running with dogs, cuddling on the couch with cats, and everything in between. Your pet will get tired of playing before I will.

Our dog, a getting-grumpy older mutt, has mostly just tolerated dog walkers and dog sitters — spending most of his time anxious about the return of his parents… not so with Jamie! Daily updates let us know how our dog was doing — and he was doing great! Normally when we leave, our dog requires wet food to get him to even eat… not so with Jamie, who didn’t even need to break into the wet food reserves. It was clear in the photos and stories (tail up, happy smiles) that Jamie and our dog bonded, which made our trip that much more pleasant. On return, our place was in great shape, with the dishwasher running and sheets and towels in the washing machine. A+ all around.
Another wonderful experience with Jamie, our dog loves him and he always leaves our home in great shape. It’s so nice to have Jamie, we trust him like a member of our family.
Jamie was great; took good care of our (very big) dog Rudy and kept us updated. We're planning to book again!
Jamie did an amazing job!! Our dog Goth can be a bit energetic and quirky (annoying) at times and is also leash reactive, and we were worried about leaving him alone for the first time. We felt so comfortable leaving him with Jamie though, and Goth had a great time! Jamie was great about responding to our nervous messages and left the house in perfect condition. Would definitely recommend Jamie for anything, and we won't hesitate to have him house sit again!

If I am pet-sitting for an extended period of time, I am happy to help collect, mail, water plants, and any other small housekeeping tasks you may need covered.

Let me know ahead of time if your pet has any special needs, dietary restrictions, and any other important considerations. I like to keep pets in their usual routine as much as possible, so if they have a favorite typical walking route, usual potty-break time, any favorite treats and toys, just let me know. Also please let me know if your dog has any sort of interaction anxiety with other pets or humans. If your cat has a blanket they like to sit on but only if it's folded a certain way (I've been there), I'm happy to oblige. And if we work together more than once, let me know your pet's favorite treats as well. Everyone loves a good surprise now and then, and pets are arguably the most deserving :)
A typical day
I love going for long walks and the occasional run. According to my FitBit, I average over 17,000 steps per day, and that's without walking a dog of my own! If you have an energetic pet who loves to run and is tricky to tire out, I'm the walker you want--they'll get tired before I will.

Availability
I am currently taking some time off work to invest more in my health, hobbies, and a few personal projects. This means my schedule is entirely my own, and very flexible. I typically go for 1-2 hours walks each day minimum anyway, and would love a furry companion for those walks. If you have a specific scheduling request don't hesitate to reach out! I'm sure we can work something out.
