There is no such thing as a bad dog

Pet care experience

I grew up with dogs; in many ways I feel like I was raised with/by dogs. I like to set dogs up for success. I am "dog minded" and can understand dog signals, how they express themselves using body signals. All dogs are puppies to me and respond well to positive reinforcement. It is my duty to exude confidence so that dogs feel comfortable that I am in control and will provide a consistent structure so that they can just be a dog. Dogs are beautifully complex beings that need exercise of both mind and body. They enjoy the feeling of being important and like humans, want to have a purpose. They have evolved with us (humans) and while not being human require similar mutual respect.

Jamie was awesome with our 6 month old pup. She was totally devoted to providing the best care for our girl while we were away from her for the first time. She even worked on training her and we were so happy to come home to her not jumping all over us! From the few days she spent with Jamie she learned so many good behaviors, which was an added bonus to knowing our pup was safe and loved for during our trip. I'm so happy to have an amazing dog sitter!!

Jamie is amazing. She is so patient with Doc and really knows her stuff. Doc responds so well to her, whether it's walking, training, or just hanging out. I couldn't be happier with her. Thank you, Jamie!

Jamie is a caring animal lover and fantastic dog sitter/walker. She follows directions exactly as explained, but also uses her unique understanding of animals to improvise when necessary. Jamie is very patient and eager to please dogs of all types. From a long walk to long pets, Jamie can do it all. I highly recommend her service for your loved one.

Jamie is a loving and intentional dog owner. She values appropriate discipline but her love is always apparent. Any dog she’s ever had is a valued member of the family. I would happily trust her with any pet of my own.

Information Jamie C. would like to know about your pet

Every dog is unique. I would appreciate having time with the dog's family in any dog's presence to establish myself as "friend" and to discuss any pup specific characteristics before I am alone with your family member. A short, maybe half hour, session would allow me to become familiar with a dog and to discuss any idiosyncrasies that would be important.

A typical day

I enjoy walking dogs around their own neighborhood or finding dog friendly parks if the local streets are not conducive. For more energetic dogs I enjoy teaching them to "walk next to a bicycle" (would discuss this at length before training it). The act of walking a dog promotes a healthy respect and relationship while simultaneously stimulating a dog's mind. If the opportunity is available I would suggest off leash (fenced in) whistle training to reinforce the most important command, recall. If your dog is toy motivated than encouraging fetch is a wonderful past time.
