Pet care experience
I’m a neat and friendly non-smoker who enjoys an active lifestyle with my fiancé in Tahoe City. We are both passionate about all types of animals and nature, including our 1 year old(as of March 2022) golden retriever. Personally, I grew up with a golden retriever named Dallas, hamsters, turtles, lizards, frogs and fish. Learning first hand, I understand the importance of animals in people’s lives and know how to provide the necessary care they deserve. I feel confident around all types of dogs. I've also spent plenty of time on farms, homesteads and camping in the greater outdoors. I’ve also spent a lot of time working with our golden retriever, Arden I hope you find me to be a good fit for your needs!

James is the man. He and his partner took excellent care of our small, beloved and somewhat anxious dog while we went to Palisades. There were a few other dogs present and somehow they had our dog chilling with the other dogs and taking 4 walks while we were at the mountain. James was even gracious about us arriving later than anticipated to pick up our dog. 100% would rebook.
James is one of the most caring and responsible people I know. I am confident that he will go above and beyond on each of his assignments, leaving you no choice but to hire him again!
I’ve had the pleasure of knowing James for the majority of my life and if there is one word to describe him, it’s respectful. This crosses all aspects of his life from relationships to his love of animals. Some of my fondest memories as a child consist of going over to James’ house to play with his beautiful golden retriever. I would trust him to take great care of my dog and also be an absolute pleasure to deal with. Cannot recommend more highly.
James watched my dog Ruby for a week and did a fantastic job! As a spunky, 90 pound Berner, she can be a handful at times, but he made sure she was always safe and well cared for! She loved their long walks and cuddles. Ruby was visibly heartbroken when her new best friend left. I would easily use James again and recommend him for any other pups!

Our 1 year old golden is super friendly and playful so she would be great company for dogs that play well with others. Otherwise, we give our dog (and yours) plenty of attention while maintaining rules about eating specific dog food, time in crate, not getting on the furniture etc to set some boundaries while creating a positive environment.

A typical day
We live minutes driving and walking from private parks, Lake Tahoe, public lands and other walking trails. There are numerous activities we can do like playing ball, swimming at the lake, lounging, trail runs and more.

Availability
I’m currently working remote in a government planning position so there is plenty of time to care for your dog. Arden and I do activities 2-3x a day including ball sessions at the park and neighborhood walks. She (and yours) can sleep in our bedroom at night.
