Pet care experience
Hello, my name is James. I love dogs, I love to walk them, and I even like running with them (slowly). I realize the importance of a daily constitutional to a dog's health and happiness. With more than 20 years experience caring for my own dog(s) and a fairly long history caring for the pets of family and friends, I have a firm grasp of what dogs need: attention, food, exercise, routine, perhaps a little more food, squirrels (!), and time to sniff anything and everything in their path. I appreciate that nearly every dog is pretty darn cute, including yours, and I look forward to taking care of them. I have experience overnight pet-setting at peoples' homes, making house calls for play-time, feeding, and walks, and have spent nearly as much time caring for cats as dogs. I look forward to hearing from you.

James was wonderful with Dottie — even took her for a long hike on Sauvie’s Island and stayed late on my final day as I wasn’t getting in until late!
James did an excellent job caring for our cats while we were away. When we came back, the cats were relaxed and content. Sometimes when we are gone, the cats take it out on us for a few days. Not this time!
James seems to make a personal connection with pets. While I was out of town two or three times, James came to my house at least twice daily and cared for my two cats. Cats are easy, you say? Mine could be tricky. One tried to dart out the front door when you inched it open and once got himself trapped in a bathroom; it took some doing to free him but James figured out how. The other cat can be close to sullen and a picky eater. By the time I returned, James was calling them by special nicknames and when he lay down on the floor, both would jump back and forth across his chest -- even the sullen one! James is extremely honest and of high moral character.
James is a great dog sitter! He is very conscientious and responsible with our dogs. Their care is important to me and I know he will do exactly what I ask of him. He is smart and uses good judgement with them. He also clearly enjoys them, they get a lot of attention and play when in his care. Dogs and James are always happy when we return! He does a great job!

A typical day
They will be walking around the neighborhood, to local dog parks, maybe even visiting a few trails in Forest Park. Not to mention receiving a lot of attention, petting and "good dog" affirmations. Even if they're just being cute and not especially good in the traditional sense.
