Happiest Place on Earth! (for Dogs)

Pet care experience

Hello and welcome to our page. My name is James, but you can call me Jim. My better half is my beautiful wife, Linda. Together we run, “The Happiest Place on Earth! (for Dogs).” First, we would like to thank you for taking the time out to review our profile. Since 2013, our devoted clients have trusted us to care for their furry companion(s). Thanks to their trust and devotion, they have helped us reach over 800, five-star reviews, and thousands of confirmed stays. We know there are many pet sitters out there and finding the right one can be an overwhelming experience. We will do our best to make it more comfortable for you. __Our Goal__ We strive to make our home a happy, fun, stress-free, and always a safe environment for them all. If you have never left your dog with a sitter, don't fret. All guests adjust well when they are in our home. They have so much fun. They get to make new friends. They play so much that they quickly forget their owners had even left. We aim to make our home a vacation getaway for your furry friend. We make every attempt to accommodate your dog's needs within our guidelines. We offer socialization for dogs that tend to be shy/nervous or not used to being around other dogs. Over the many years involved with animals, we have developed the proper skills needed to socialize dogs. If your pup loves to play, we can accommodate that with our large backyard. If your dog is older and likes a more peaceful, quiet environment, we can adjust to that as well. We don't have any breed or size restrictions. However, we do require that your pup can be social with other dogs. Above all, your pup's health and safety in our home will always be of the utmost importance to us. In a rare event during playtime with other dogs, there are instances where a minor injury may occur; such as scrapes or bumps. If your pup becomes sick or injured, we will take the proper steps immediately to ensure their safety. __About Our Home__ We live close to the Orlando International Airport, about a 15-minute drive (Zip Code 32829). Our home is approximately 2000 square feet. That means your pup has 2000 square feet for them to explore. We do not ever crate any of our guests. However, we will accommodate the owners request to do so due to puppy training or medical needs. We have a large backyard intended with dogs in mind. The backyard offers, some grassy areas, dirt, gravel, plastic doggie pool, fire hydrant, dragon tire obstacle, two play tunnels, and shaded areas. A new escape-proof vinyl/ wood 6-foot fence, meaning any dog that tries to dig underneath will hit a barrier. All of our floors are doggie proof, travertine tiles in the kitchen and dining room. The rest of the house has stained concrete. The concrete floors are great in case your pup has an accident, no worries it can easily be cleaned. Our guests are welcome to pick any spot in our home to sleep. There are even a few spots in our room if they need to sleep close to us. __About Us__ I left my job a few years ago to dedicate myself full time to caring for your pet. I now have the best job in the world where I get to play with, cuddle and care for dogs every day. We were involved with dog rescues for over ten years before we started Rover and have extensive experience with many breeds and personalities. We genuinely love animals and enjoy having them around. I previously worked for Orange County Animal Services and Running Bird Ranch. At the ranch, I cared for several different animals, including parrots, deer, emu, and other farm animals. My wife Linda works nights and I am home basically 24-7. So, your babies will rarely be left alone. That works out great for all dogs since someone is always at home to tend to their needs. We have no children at this time. We recently adopted a sweet handsome dog that we named Princeton. We had known him for a few years and when the opportunity was presented for us to adopt him we could not pass it up. He is gets along great will all dogs big and small. He was originally rescued from Orange County so we believe him to be about 7 years of age. He is very easy going and loves to cuddle with humans and other pups. We also have a Macaw parrot named Boka. He has been around dogs since he was born and is friendly towards dogs with no fear of them. In addition we have a pet turtle and several colorful fish. Previously we owned three beautiful Chinese Shar-Peis named Kobo, Kada and Harley. They passed away a few years ago, we miss them every day. If you like what you have read so far… Please take a few more minutes to get more detailed information about what to expect and what is required. __Arrive On Time ⏰ __ That is of extreme importance because the dogs are free to roam around the house, it is imperative that you must arrive on time. If you are running late, please keep us updated, so we have time to put the other dog guest away before your arrival. We like to have a smooth pick up or drop off so its highly crucial that if your arrival time changes, you let us know. We always ask for all our clients to send us a message about 15 minutes before you arrive. Thank you for your cooperation. __A Typical Day__ On any day of the week you can expect that I will have multiple dogs in my home. My day consists of feeding the pups two times a day. Making sure they have plenty of water in and out of the house. Picking up lots of poop. LOL! Not the most glamorous part of my day. Lots of playtime in the backyard for those that enjoy running, chasing, and playing. I let them outside several times a day. When they come in, they will either follow me around the house or just lay down on the cool floors to relax or nap. We feel no need to take dogs for walks since they have plenty of opportunity throughout the day to do their "business" in the backyard. We strongly believe that being in our backyard is a safer/more controlled environment. Throughout the day we take several pictures so you can see how your pup is doing. We typically try to send clients regular updates with photos in the early/late evening. __What is Required__ Flea & Tick: All dogs must be on flea and tick prevention. Despite our best efforts to treat our yard and having our lawn cut every week, it still is not enough. Please make sure you treat your pet now and continue monthly applications throughout the rest of the year. We have the right to refuse any dog that has a flea/tick infestation. Vaccinations: For the safety of your dog, it is vital that he/she be current on all vaccines. Having your pet vaccinated is the best and least costly way of preventing disease. Without proper vaccination, he/she will be left unprotected. We can not be held responsible. Please bring a copy of latest vaccination records, either on the day of the meet and greet or the day you drop off. We will make a copy to keep for our records. Dog Profile: Make sure to fill out your dog's "Profile" on Rover so that we can have a better understanding of him/her. Give detailed feeding instructions. Provide emergency contacts and vet information, especially if you will not have phone service while on vacation. What to bring:Food, food bowl, collar and vaccine record. Dog's regular food, enough food for the entire stay and a little extra incase you have a flight delay, etc. Please do not switch his/her food a few days before coming to our home because in some dogs, changing the food abruptly can cause diarrhea. Bring food bowl, we have plenty of water bowls. We have extras but prefer you to bring his/her regular food bowl. Dog collar with name & rabies tags is required. Harnesses will be removed because the other pups tend to chew on them therefore they can get dirty or damaged. Doggie beds are only recommended if you have a senior dog with medical needs. Beds tend to get dirty. If you need to bring a bed please provide an old sheet to protect it. We do have some doggie cots that are a few inches off the ground and are very comfortable for the pups. Treats, we recommend that you do not bring treats. This is not to be mean but you never know how multiple dogs will act when treats are being offered. Medications: We do not charge for oral medications or injections. Please provide detailed instructions. I am knowledgeable with administering insulin shots, etc. __Things to Keep in Mind__ Meet & Greet: We always offer a free Meet & Greet to new potential clients. It gives everyone a chance to get to know each other and to see where your pup will be staying. It allows me to connect with your dog and make sure he/she has a successful stay with us. If your pup likes to run around there is a chance he/she will get dirty during the meet and greet. For those visiting out of town, we can communicate by phone and determine if this is the right place for your pup. Also, there are times when you have an emergency and are unable to do a meet and greet. We will try to do our best to accommodate if this happens. Bathing 🛀 : If your dog is active and likes to have fun by rolling around in the dirt and grass, please be warned that he/she will get dirty, there is dirt in the backyard as much as I would like the grass to grow all around its not attainable with pups running around the yard everyday. We usually have quite a few pet guests here and we want to focus our attention on the care and safety of them. We want the experience for the pet(s) to be as close to home as possible without having to hire help and getting into a more commercial type boarding service. For this reason, we do not offer bathing or grooming services. Your pet will most likely need a bath after their stay. That will be the pet owners responsibility to handle. On occasion, I might give a dog a bath, but that is on an individual basis. Picky Eaters: On a rare occasion there will be a dog who will not eat on the first day or so. We always take some extra time with the dog if this should happen. We try sitting in a quiet area, and/or give 15-20 minutes extra time. We even try to feed out of our hand LOL! This one usually works. If all else fails, we would always contact the pet owner to discuss other options. This normally only happens with super high energy dogs, who's only care is to run and play. After the excitement wears off they are ready to EAT!! At feeding time, all dogs are separated in rooms/areas throughout the house. We feed two times a day-morning & evening. Spay/Neutered: It is highly recommended that all dogs be spayed and neutered due to the nature of care we provide. We can not accept females during their heat cycle. Males that are intact and mark everywhere in my home or show possessive tendencies towards a particular dog will not be allowed back. Just to clarify-some male dogs may start sniffing around and might pee the first time they enter my home. In most cases it only happens once and it is not a problem throughout the rest of the stay. Some females can also pee mostly from excitement this is also understandable. Most dogs that are neutered at a young age will rarely exhibit any marking or humping behavior. Pups do have accidents and that is not a problem. I always have bleach, water and paper towels handy to clean up in such instances. Senior Dogs/Puppies: We are happy to provide care for injured dogs or those with special medical or health needs. We accept puppies that are up to date with their vaccines. Puppies that are still in house training or have an occasional accident are not a problem. If you are still puppy potty crate training you can certainly bring the crate. ****DAILY RATE IS FOR EACH 24 HOURS**** We strive to accommodate your drop off and pick up times. Example is for reference purposes only; drop off at 8:00 am/pick up at 8:00 am. If the pickup time is going to be later than the original drop off time, the app will charge an additional fee according to pick up time you choose. If you have any questions about this policy, please do not hesitate to ask. Thank you for your understanding. __Cancelation__ I have a strict cancellation policy. Due to the nature of our services, our spots are limited. When you cancel, that is a spot I could have booked another dog. A full refund is available if a client cancels by 12:00 pm one week before the stay begins, 12:00 pm is determined by my time zone. If canceled later than 12:00 pm one week before the stay begins, a 50% refund is available for the first seven canceled days of the stay and a 100% refund is available for any additional days. If canceled the day the sit begins no refund is available. Also, if you pick up your dog a day earlier than what you had paid for, no refund is available. Thank you for taking the time to consider us. We look forward to hearing from you and meeting you and your furry friend(s) soon. DOGS DO SPEAK , BUT ONLY TO THOSE WHO KNOW HOW TO LISTEN... I schedule my day around the pups. This is my full time job. My wife Linda works nights. So, your babies will rarely be left alone. That works out great for all dogs since someone is always at home to tend to their needs. We have a fenced yard and a dog friendly home. We can accommodate puppies, playful and senior dogs. My day consists of feeding the pups two times a day. Making sure they have plenty of water in and out of the house. We typical play with them, give them affection and lots of cuddles throughout the day. I am home full time. I offer 24-7 supervision. I feed all dogs separately. This is for all of the pets safety and to monitor there food consumption. My property is fully fenced and completely escape proof. I am constantly in and out of the house during the day so the pups follow me. They get plenty of chances to play, rest and socialize. My full time job is to take care of the pups. My wife Linda works nights and I am home all day, unless I have an appointment or need to run to Home Depot. So, your babies will rarely be left alone. That works out great for all dogs since someone is always at home to tend to their needs. We have a large backyard designed with dogs in mind. The backyard offers, some grassy areas, dirt, gravel, plastic doggie pool, fire hydrant, dragon tire obstacle, two play tunnels, and shaded areas. We can’t thank James enough for the care he provided for our pup Snoop! He was very welcoming and you can immediately see his admiration for animals upon entering his home, he cares for such a diverse range of pets whom adore him so much. We can’t recommend him enough, he couldn’t of provided a better Rover experience!
