Pet care experience
During COVID I adopted a 3 year-old dog of my own, and she has taught me to be patient with dogs who require a little more TLC. She has taught me to be extra vigilant with on walks so she doesn’t eat garbage, she’s taught me to be on alert of other dogs on walks, and she’s taught me to be patient and empathetic when she’s not quite ready for a walk in the rain.

James was wonderful! I’ve never left my dog while I’ve traveled before so I was really nervous, but he was very nice and was willing to meet me beforehand as well. He also sent me texts and photos to keep me updated on how she was doing while I was away. It looks like she had a blast! He took her out for tons of walks, played with him and his roommates and friends, she got lots of attention, and it sounds like they had a great time together! I’m so grateful and will definitely use James again!
James Hansen is an excellent choice for your dog-walking and dog-sitting needs, not only is he one of the most dependable and genuinely caring people I have worked with, he is also adaptable and quick on his toes--a must have skill set for someone working with a multi-dog home as James has with mine. But whether you've got a whole tribe, or just one little loved one, I know James will treat you and your pet(s) responsibly and with respect, like the family they are.
James is *wonderful*. He is supportive, caring, loving, funny, smart, and reliable. I would not hesitate to recommend him, and am confident in his abilities to care for your pets!
James took amazing care of Lucy! She is a rescue and has many little ticks (leash aggression, separation anxiety to name a few) so she is not a beginner dog. Typically she is a whiny mess when we pick her up but after spending the night with James she was the least stressed at pick up that she has ever been!

In my home, I have an extra crate for your dog. And if I were to come to your home, I am perfectly respectable of the rules and boundaries that you have set with your dog (ie no table scraps, no doggy on the couch, etc).

A typical day
I take my doggy on 3 15-30 minute walks a day. Sometimes we go to the dog park and sometimes we just do an exploratory walk of sniffs to give her some mental stimulation.
