Pet care experience
Hello! I have been petsitting since I was in elementary school for neighbors, family members, my parents' coworkers and friends, etc. I love animals of every kind, from scaly to fluffy. I have experience with dogs from chihuahuas to Bernese mountain dogs, cats, and many smaller animals. I have a special interest in dog training, and taught my family's dogs a variety of tricks and skills while I was growing up. I would be happy to meet you and your pet(s). I am open to providing petsitting for smaller animals such as birds, rodents, fish, etc. as well, feel free to reach out.

The first thing I noticed about James was that my puppy and cats were completely drawn to him when he arrived at my place! He is so loving and attentive to all animals! He has been pet sitting for us for about a year as needed and I couldn’t be more grateful to have found him! My 3 yr old puppy requires special attention as he is mostly blind, but James has given better attention and care than I could’ve imagined!! He is gracious, flexible, available on short notice, and sends pics of my babies while we’re away. He gets my greatest compliments and highest reccommendation.
James is detail oriented and very kind and thoughtful in his pet care. He cares a lot about animals which is evident in not just his petsitting skills but also his hobbies, as he is an avid birdwatcher who loves hiking and nature, so he is definitely a perfect fit to walk even the most energetic of dogs. He has experience with all types of animals, including exotic pets such as lizards, rats, hamsters, and even invertebrates, and has provided specialized care for pets with special needs/special care requirements on several occasions. James is definitely the perfect person to watch your pet!

On walks, this means that I typically avoid other dogs and particularly off-leash dogs. When house-sitting, I am vigilant about locking doors and keeping pets out of trouble.

Let me know if you have any expectations for your dog's behavior on walks or in the home. Let me know how they are with other dogs and if I should avoid them on walks. Give me a heads up for any potential medical issues, allergies, etc. that I should be aware of. I would also recommend leaving your vet's information with me, just in case!

I enjoy exploring neighborhoods and parks, and am happy to take dogs on long walks if they have the energy for them. Let me know if your pets have any tricks or commands I can work on with them! I also enjoy setting up puzzle feeders and challenges.

Availability
I am typically available all day for petsitting and dog walking unless otherwise noted. I am used to both early mornings and late nights. My other day-to-day responsibilities are flexible and can be done remotely, so it is easy for me to do those while house-sitting.
