** Please read the availability section if you need me for a full week**** What's up! I'm James. I've owned and been taking care of all different types of pets my entire life. I always step in for family and friends to take care of their pets when they need someone (mainly dogs). It’s something I definitely don't have to do but I really have fun doing it so THANK YOU ROVER. My girlfriend and I currently own one dog, Chase. He is a medium sized Australian Eskimo who is our little sidekick. He's the first dog that I've raised since a puppy, which has also gotten me heavily into dog training. I've worked rigorously with positive reinforcement training, crate training, off leash, recall, guard me, heel, etc. I also groom him regularly myself.

So happy to have found James and Chase in my local area! After a short meet and greet our boys we had no doubt they would be a good fit as pals. Thankful for James sending me many updates through our first overnight booking and being so prompt on getting back to me! My dog needed a whole afternoon of sleep when he got home so I know he had a blast too!
James didn’t just watch our boy he also trained him!! Our puppy would not go into his crate for anything and we didn’t kno what to do but James somehow figured it out while he was watching him and we can’t thank him enough for that!
James is a very responsible and loving caregiver for his dog Chase, an Australian shepherd and American Eskimo mix. He’s had Chase for over 3 years and has nurtured the very energetic and playful dog since Chase was a puppy. James has diligently ensured that Chase goes out for walks regularly and is fed nutritious food. When James noticed that Chase was gaining weight, he consulted with a vet and then was disciplined about regulating the amount of food that Chase got each day. James has also been skilled at house training Chase since he was a puppy; ensuring that Chase used a wee wee pad, and also ensuring that Chase was well behaved and followed all commands (such as to not bark indoors). As mentioned before, Chase is a highly energetic dog, and James has been very good about playing with Chase inside and outdoors at parks, etc., giving Chase lots of love and attention, while also ensuring that Chase stays disciplined and settles down when the situation calls for it. I highly recommend James if you are looking for a natural when it comes to being a dedicated, attentive, and loving pet caregiver.
James has been a responsible and reliable caretaker for my cats for so many years. I travel a few times a year and have always needed someone to drop in at least once a day to check in on them and feed them. He has always followed my food instructions and diet restrictions perfectly and I can always count on him.

When doing drop-ins, I am respectful of other people's house rules and boundaries so I won't just barge in and act like it's my home. I will let your pet(s) greet me and gradually make my way in so they feel comfortable and safe. I will be accessible at all times so contact me as much as you'd like. Please provide me with clear and detailed instructions on how you want me to care for your pet while I'm there. I'll also need to know their behavior. There are different ways to approach a dog who is territorial compared to the friendly welcoming pup. If they are aggressive and clearly not trained properly for their breed - look elsewhere, respectfully. When boarding - my home is already pet friendly/proof. I have the kitchen closed off at all times. We have a spacious backyard that is fenced and gated all around.

A typical day
If there are no restrictions with your dog, they'll be going on random adventures. If the weather is good we'll go on multiple walks and hang out at a couple of dog parks around my way. If they're comfortable in the car, we'll take a drive and go to a bigger park or a dog friendly hike (with your permission). They'll probably be just as happy in our backyard though, playing fetch and running around with each other. Chase is cool with sharing his toys. It's a fun time here!

Availability
- I work 3 days a week, 13hr shifts and off the remaining 4. My availability is adjusted on Rover already. If your dog can be left alone for long times, I can open up the days that I work and they will follow Chase's schedule. He's trained to be alone for long hours. - Walk schedules will be followed based on what you provide. - Eating schedules will be followed based on what you provide. - We have a gated backyard so bathroom breaks and random games of fetch are unlimited.
