Kind, loving and patient dog sitter
Pet care experience
I have always been the goto guy among family, friends and neighbours when they are in need of having their dog(s) safely and lovingly looked after. This has included overnight stays and just popping by for a walk or potty break. In the past I have also fostered dogs for two different rescues which has been enlightening in regard to different dog behaviours. I have two dogs myself that are both rescues and it has taken love and patience to bring out their true personalities. I have looked after all ages of dogs with different needs. From puppies needing clean ups every two minutes to oldies needing extra help getting up and lifting. I am always willing to give pills and injections to dogs. Also, I would be happy to take dogs to vet appointments if necessary.
Reviews
James was a pleasure to work with and our pup enjoyed his time with James. We loved the photos he shared of their walk. He was great at communication and being on time. We look forward to working with James again! Highly recommend him! ?❤️
Felt that my dog was in good hands with James! He made sure to know all the specifics to provide a good walk! And he followed instructions for other care excellently. Would absolutely request walks from him in the future!
James was great! We have an older dog that is sometimes a bit of a challenge but Blaze really warmed up to James quickly. Chloe loves everyone but she approved as well. James was easy to work with, very communicative, trustworthy, and took great care of the dogs. Highly recommend for anyone that is looking for dog care.
Very professional! Will definitely hire again

When dog sitting I will listen to the clients instructions of how they want their dog looked after. Obviously I will listen to and look for the dog's cues as to when to be taken out but the dog will be taken out regularly. I will also report each days happenings and provide photos so the client will see how their dog's day has been spent. While walking dogs outside the home I will keep them leashed at all times (unless otherwise instructed by the client). If I take your dog to a dog park I will let the dog off the leash unless otherwise instructed. I will always pick up dog waste from the dog's garden and on all walks or visits to dog parks.
Information James C. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know of any special needs your dog may have. Such as - difficulty walking, any soreness and any medications they may need. I have experience with old dogs that need help getting up and deaf dogs that need to be approached so they can sense you visually or through vibrations so as not to shock them. I have walked and taken care of blind dogs as well. Also, please advise me on your dogs likes and dislikes. Such as fear of loud noises, traffic etc., and dislikes of cats or other dogs so I can be prepared for such occasions. I am always happy to follow your instructions regarding where and how to walk your dogs.
A typical day
I am prepared to take dogs on long or short walks. These walks can be straight out of your door and around the neighbourhood. Or I can take them on nearby hikes such as Wompatuck State Park. I can also also play games in your garden or safe areas in the house. I find dogs love to not only be physically exercised but also mentally exercised. I'd encourage dogs to learn tricks and basic commands so they can get rewarded. This can be in the form of positive reinforcement or treats. I know my dogs love treats for completing commands but I only give them out sparingly so they don't get overweight. There is a dog park I can take your dog to near my house and I can drive them there if you request. Basically I'll do your plan of activities int he order you want them done. I know dogs love a routine. I'm also happy to set their schedule myself. It's really up to you. I will always give them pets, scratches and if they like them hugs and kisses. I just love dogs!!
