Pet care experience
I grew up with three Siberian Huskies whom I ran and walked constantly. I truly enjoy spending time with dogs, and I'll treat yours with kindness and compassion. I've often cared for the dogs of friends and family, handling pups of all sizes, energy levels, ages, and training levels. I'm also an avid runner, and depending on your dog's needs I can provide anything from intense long-distance trail runs to slow, careful walks. For added peace of mind, I am a licensed attorney who understands the duties of care involved in protecting your animals and home.
Reviews
Jake was responsive and communicative from the moment we booked with him and through out his whole stay. He was proactive about arranging a meet and greet and asked lots of questions. During his stay, he gave our pups lots of attention and walks and sent us lots of photos and updates. We came home to happy cared for dogs and our home just as we left it. Couldn’t ask for more in a house/pet sitter. Will book again in the future.
Jake did great with our dog Moses. Moses is older and has mobility issues and a lot of medication. Jake took his time during the meet and greet to learn about Moses and the drop in visit went great. Would book him again.
Jake watched our energetic 2 year old dog Winnie while we were away for 4 nights. This was our first time using Rover, so we weren’t sure how things worked for 24 hr bookings and if that meant he stayed at the house overnight or dropped in for visits, etc. He was willing to do whatever we thought would make Winnie most comfortable, so Jake stayed at our home with her and worked from our home as well since that is her norm. He also took her for multiple runs and walks despite snowy weather, and was thoughtful and conscientious to ask beforehand about her overall health, physical activity level, stamina, paw protection, and confirmed it was okay to supplement her meals with extra calories on days that she was more physically exerted. Jake gave Winnie her meds 2x daily and when he noticed a reflux symptom she displays, I appreciated that he checked in with me to confirm it was what we had described and not something else going on with her. Jake respected our home and kept it just as we’d left it. He communicated proactively throughout his stay and sent us many pictures of Winnie and their runs together. We would absolutely use him again for future travels.
Jake is great! He took excellent care of our dog while we were gone for 8 days, including some fun extra excursions that we know Oscar must have loved. He was super communicative, and he sent us pictures of Oscar almost every day. He also cleaned the house before we got home, started the dishwasher, etc. He’s a totally responsible, caring professional. We highly recommend his service!

I do not care for pets in my own home, as that is not permitted by my lease. I am looking to care for pets in the homes of clients and walk (or run) dogs in public spaces. Because I can perform my primary job duties from anywhere, including client homes, your animals will never be unattended for lengthy periods of time.
Information Jake H. would like to know about your pet
I would like to know the dog's age and its social tendencies towards people, children, and other dogs. I would also like to know of any health issues the dog may have, especially if such issues might affect how I care for the dog on walks and in other settings (e.g., anything that might necessitate additional stops for water or restrictions on the length/intensity of walks).
A typical day
I enjoy bringing high-energy dogs for runs on the amazing trails in Colorado. I make sure to select trails with adequate shade, pack plenty of water, and avoid peak heat in the summertime. For older dogs, or other dogs with health issues for whom challenging terrain is not appropriate, I prefer to bring them to easy, flat trails around lakes and reservoirs.
