Caring and Energetic dog lover in South Bristol
Pet care experience
Hi there. Dogs have been a part of my life since I can remember. I love them more than people. When I was 16 I was fortunate enough to train my own 2 sheep dog from puppies in New Zealand. Ever since, I have been looking to walk, train and care for dogs. I am currently living in a very lovely large town-house in Southville, Bristol with 2 female housemates who also both absolutely love dogs. I have been running my own dog walking business since 2015; So if you are looking for your dog to be well socialised and exercised on 2 x hour walks a day then that is what I offer. We have now finally got a puppy of our own: Loam. A gourgeous Double-Doodle.

Leaving my fur babies with someone is such a huge step. They are no just pets, they are family. I am extremely thankful for Jake. I trust him implicitly and have complete peace of mind whether he's walking them or they are staying over with him. Jakes' is their second home and I know they are safe, loved and looked after. Jake is especially brilliant with Freddie my labradoodle who can at times be wilful, demanding and dominant. He knows how to handle her.
In short, Jake is the best dog walker I’ve ever had (and probably ever will have). Jake is professional, reliable and genuinely adores dogs. I can see how important it is to Jake that the dogs he cares for are happy. I can’t recommend Jake enough. He is the only dog walker you’ll ever want. By way of background (if you’re still reading!) I moved to Bristol after a break up with my (now ex) husband who was my childhood sweetheart. I was heart broken and Hadley was then and still is my everything. Suddenly finding myself alone, I needed help with my baby Hadley. I was so nervous getting a dog walker. What if they didn’t care about Hadley like I do. What if Hadley didn’t feel loved and what if his needs weren’t met? (Etc) Jake arrived and met Hadley, immediately fussing him and loving him. Hadley took to Jake so quickly and Jake was fantastic with Hadley from the outset and was so professional throughout. I genuinely could see that Jake loved Hadley and his number one priority is the care of all dogs. Seeing how Jake interacted with Hadley and how Hadley loves Jake was a beautiful thing. As well as walking Hadley, Jake helped Hadley become more confident, and also I found Hadley’s recall was better after being with Jake. Having seen Hadley’s training come on leaps and bounds, I asked Jake one day to go on a walk with him and Hadley so I could make sure I’m consistent with commands and to continue Hadley’s training and Jake kindly obliged. Jake may work solely as a dog walker, but he built on the training I started with Hadley and bonded with Hadley in such a strong way. By the end of my time with Jake, Hadley’s training had really come together and not only was Hadley ecstatic to see Jake everyday, but also the days I walked Hadley, he was a dream. My life took me and Hadley to London but I’m still in touch with Jake and whenever I’m in Bristol, Hadley has an opportunity to see Jake again. I cannot recommend Jake enough. If you’re looking for a dog walker that truly cares and will give your baby the best time while you’re unavailable, Jake is your person!
We never used rover before so entrusting a single person to take care of our dog for 10 days was a little nerve racking. Jake eased our nerves and went above and beyond anything we could have expected. He is a master of his craft and at no time during our holiday we’re we worried about our dog. He gives excellent updates daily and ensures that your dog gets plenty of exercise and play time with the other dogs he takes care of on a daily basis. If you want a trusting person to look after your dog for extended period of just for day care he is the man to go to.
Well, Jake went really well with my bulldog. He was always available to pick up the phone and prone to answer to questions.
