I grew up with two mutts in Santa Fe, NM. They were great dogs, and when I graduated from college and lived at home for several months I'd spend hours a day walking our dog Barclay. I loved how present he was to life and also such an easy companion to be with. That was five years ago, and now I have a dog of my own. I'm a diligent dog owner, always listening and watching. First and foremost, I'm concerned about a dog's safety. In a place like New York, there are lots of things to keep an eye out for. I'm also a big proponent and practicer of positive reinforcement training. My dog, Zorba, is six months old and already incredibly well-behaved, thanks to the training my girlfriend Debbie (also a Rover walker) and I have implemented.
