Experienced and reliable dog sitter local to you.

Pet care experience

Hi dog owners! So, I grew up in north London and always had one or two golden retrievers when I was growing up in the family. I am now in my early 40s, and these days I live Bethnal Green. I live in a flat on Roman Road, which is about 4 minutes walk from Bethnal Green station on the central line. Also about a 10 minute walk from Stepney Green station. Happy to happy with your dog at home during the day. Also happy to do the toilet breaks, walks, meal times, and all the usual stuff too. Look forwards to hearing from you! Jake. :-)

Jake looked after my dog Ivy for a day while I was at work. Ivy came home very happy and rested the whole rest of the evening, so Jake clearly took good care of her. He was very professional, friendly and sent me a lot of updates and photos. Much appreciated! Will definitely be rebooking :)

Jake was brilliant with Lola. He is really well organised and conscientious, and was very careful to ensure he knew what she needed by way of food, exercise and medication. He gave me regular detailed updates, and it was clear from these that her routine was being maintained and that she was getting loads of love as well. She is a sensitive dog so this was very important to me. I had no worries at all about Lola while she was in Jake’s care, and very much hope he can step in again next time I need a sitter. I highly recommend him to others as well of course - a thoroughly reliable and trustworthy person.

A typical day

Every dog is different. Some dogs want cuddles all the time, while others want a bit more space to themselves. I like to do a good walk earlier on, as that means the dog is much calmer for the rest of the day. They also come with me for my afternoon coffee at my local cafe, where they get loads of attention from the other cafe patrons.

Availability

I am self-employed, working in property and also some tech consultancy. I often work from home during the week. I am new to Rover, but I have done pet sitting for friends and people locally for at least 6 or 7 years. I would just ask for 2 or 3 days' notice so I can make sure I'm available. For the two visits, it is best if your dog stays for just a 3 or 4 hours. This is primarily so they can get used to me, and it reduces their anxiety. After that, they can stay for a full day. Also happy to offer overnight stays too, once all of us are feeling comfortable.
