I've had all types of animal companions throughout my life. Cats and a bearded dragon, rats and rabbits, guinea pigs for several years, and I rode horses/was a counselor for summer horse camp. With dogs specifically, I had 3 growing up (a collie mix, a cocker spaniel, and a pit/lab) and 1 as an adult. Shiva (also a pit/lab) was my companion for 11years and now that she has passed, I look for any opportunity to spend time with animals! I go to the MidTown Farmer's Market mostly to pet other peoples' dogs😅 And I have helped many friends and family take care of their pets over the years, including multi-night house/pet sitting. I also have experience with animals that have special needs, so that is not a problem (ex: animals that need meds, animals with personality/behavior quirks, elder animals and baby animals). As I set up this profile, I currently have lots of availability and flexibility in my schedule. I will update that, when/if anything changes. On most days, I am available for long periods throughout the day, and currently I am often available all day. I have lots of patience and excellent communication skills, and can work with you to meet the specific needs of your family! In my home, your pet will be treated like family. There are a few stray cats that I care for that hang out in the yard (I am part of the local volunteer TNR program), but I have a fully fenced front and back yard where your pet can be as well. If your pet doesn't get along with cats, the strays usually hide in my garage on their own accord, and your pet will not be allowed into the garage. Besides the garage, your pet will have full access inside the house and to the back/front yard. We will play tuggies, cuddle, eat (approved) snacks, and go on walkies or to the park! If your pet has a special diet or behavioral needs, as long as the instructions are clear those requirements will easily be worked into the routine. If I am in your home, I will observe all rules outlined by you without exception.
