Pet Friendly Empty-Nester
Pet care experience
We adopted Neo, in his prime a 90+lb Field Golden -- tall with dark fur -- as a rescue puppy in 2010. For the last nine years I took care of him: three walks a day including to a local dog park, one feeding a day plus treats, regular vet visits and baths. He wandered around our house and a reasonably-sized backyard. He was great friends with our cat Tiger, a placid grey tabby who went to the Great Farm a year ago. Neo developed into a friendly giant who enjoys people. Sadly, my constant companion developed lymphoma and passed away recently after a brief struggle with the disease. Over the years, we've also hosted for friends an Australian sheep-dog Maya and Callie, a calm Rhodesian Ridgeback. As an empty-nester retiree, I would like to continue the wonderfully fulfilling experience of caring for pets.
