I was born and raised in the beautiful PNW, and I absolutely love it here! Since I was a young girl, I have always had a love for all animals, especially dogs! I grew up in a multi-family farm-like setting, where I was raised with many different types of dogs and other animals. I learned a lot very quickly, and I turned this passion into work at the young age of 12. I was trusted to walk dogs and housesit for my neighbors, and ever since, I have loved caring for animals of all kinds. I began working with dogs professionally at a seeing-eye-dog facility in Bellingham, WA at age 14. There, I began to learn training, agility, and health for dogs. My responsibilities grew quickly, and I loved making an impact in animals' and humans' lives alike. At age 15, I began work as a dog bather at PetSmart where I was introduced to many different breeds of dogs. I went through mandatory professional training and I am educated in nutrition and diet for dogs and cats, bathing and grooming techniques, and also various knowledge about other pets. I then went on to work at a facility called City Dogs Grooming as a dog bather/receptionist and have bathed dogs of all breeds. I loved learning about their unique coats, temperaments, needs and personalities. To this day, I stay up to date on the latest news, research, and training methods for canines. I really value what I do and I do not treat this as a "side-gig." I have dozens of reviews from happy clients and my experience speaks for itself. I am a mature, kind, and responsible young woman and your dog will be in excellent hands with me! My clients, from Rover and previously, range from 6 week old puppies needing constant supervision to twenty-two year old cats that just needed a warm place to sleep with their food and water always kept full and fresh. I've cared for exotic birds, intricate fish tanks, sheep, goats, lizards, snakes, rabbits, and the list goes on. I love all kinds. My most specialty booking was a farm with 4 elderly horses (ages 12-16) as well as a housecat. I took care of the property and home while also turning out the horses each morning, conducting feedings and keeping their stalls clean. Long story short, there's nothing I can't do! I am extremely detail-oriented in everything I put my mind to, in work and personally. From making sure your animal's water and food is fresh and measured out every day, checking their overall health and grooming their coat as needed, administering medication or specialty treatments, to keeping the house in order, I make it the best possible experience for pet parents to feel confident leaving their babies in my care. I believe in making sure everyone has fun the entire time so they are distracted and can continue on with their normal routines, minimizing the stress of their owners leaving! I absolutely love dogs more than anything on this earth and it shows in my pure dedication, care and attention to them. I always send pictures and updates to pet parents to brighten their day and put them at ease. We can do this through the Rover app, phone, or email, whatever works for you. In some cases, pet parents will travel somewhere without service and I am willing to work around any communication concerns that may arise. I have many references available (at your request) for the years of work I have with dogs and other animals. I believe in always getting outside and exploring the trails, beaches, and mountains this beautiful area has to offer, and would love to bring dog companions along! (*How did I choose my rates?*) I have set my rates in accordance with my 18 years of professional as well as personal animal experience, costs related to being an independent contractor, rising gas costs, and pay for time spent with your animals. I also include house cleaning in every housesit, and I always go the extra mile to make sure your home and loved ones are safe! Rover makes a percentage off of all transactions through this app, which can make a huge impact especially on longer stays. I try to offset this as much as possible! Ask me about promotional codes or discounts :) *I cannot stay with your dog 24/7.* I do not work from home, and because I'm an essential worker, I will be gone part-time during some days of the week. We will discuss the exact schedule when you book with me, so we can work around it. I also ask for time off from my day job during some of my stays in order to spend more time with the animals. If this is something that you'd like to request, we can talk further. Please just provide as much detail as possible about what your animals need, and I will adjust as much as I can for you! My schedule allows me to take breaks and check on your dog/take them for a walk during my days. My work is flexible and I do have the ability to work around your animals' needs. I'm not able to have a dog currently at my rental, so I love being able to care for others', and I'm thankful for dogs for getting me outside, exploring new trails and areas! I look forward to caring for and adventuring with your pups during my free time. Let's talk about what works best for your animal family. I am a very responsible and conscientious person that respects the amount of trust required to put your animal in my care. I take this responsibility of guardianship extremely seriously and will go to great lengths just to make sure your animal is happy and you are updated! Because of my extensive experience with animals, I am able to read their energy and emotions (usually) very well. I am super conscious of these slight changes and I do everything I can to make sure your pet is peaceful at all times. I prioritize safety and make sure to create a calm environment in the home for your babies. When on walks or in the car, I make sure my dog clients are properly secured and safe! I have heard of stories through Rover throughout the years, but I have never had anything happen while any animals have been in my care, for 18 years now. Even in adverse situations that have been outside of mine and the animal's control, I make the most educated guess to handle the situation and always go with my gut. I am proud to say that I have a perfect safety rating. I am always thinking of your pets' needs first. I am very careful in your home with your dog, and I am always aware of my surroundings. I am in general, a very clean and safe person, so I will treat your home as if it is my own. I make sure to secure all openings to the home to keep your animals safe, take care of temperature in the home to make sure the animal is comfortable, I am conscientious about lights/electricity usage and safety as I have owned my own home. I am willing to go over all details with you, so that you can put 100% of your trust in me to care for your pets as well as your property with care and respect at all times. Communication is number one for me and I would like everything to be out in the open.
