I’ve owned all variety of animals since I was little, from small animals like rabbits and guinea pigs to dogs and cats and even large animals like cattle! I am no stranger to taking care of pets, as I currently have 2 doggies, a bunny, and a snake too. I have years of experience caring for and training these babies in a home setting, but also plenty of handling and caring for them in a professional setting as well! I spent over a year working for a doggie daycare and boarding facility, handling all sizes and attitudes you can imagine. From friendly to feisty, small Chihuahuas to large Great Danes, and our facility also accepted cats and small pets as well. I learned how to handle different types of personalities and bond with all types of animals here, it was the most fun job I’ve ever had. I also learned how to watch body language in the daycare setting, and know when they aren’t too happy with my actions or another pets. After that, I worked at a vet office for about a year, where I learned how to handle and bond with anxious animals who may not be as excited to see me as I am them, and also basic medication administration skills. This job also taught me how to remain calm during emergencies as we accepted those types of calls, or even smaller injuries/issues, and what vet offices will be best to reach out to in what situation. To sum all that up, my experience has provided me with a lot of skills in handling all types of pets and their care situations, even aggressive ones as well. I now work a part time job that allows me to provide home visits and walks, which is why I’m looking to get started! I’m blessed with the time to pursue a second job doing something I love, which is being around and caring for animals.
