Pet care experience

For first time bookings with me, you can use my code JACQUS58109 to get 20 dollars off. Hello! If you are in search of someone with a vast knowledge and someone who has experience with all breeds and all sizes, look no further. My knowledge extends from health, diet, exercise, enrichment activities, grooming, and training for your dog. My experience consists of: 6 years of dog handling and care of all different breeds/sizes Knowing dogs 101/201 on dog behaviorial courses Pack pro dog training courses on dog language and group management Leerburg training university on balanced dog training Previous employment at 3 dog facilities as a trainer, kennel lead and assistant Previous assistant for puppy kindergarten classes I am here to help owners with dogs that enjoy a more one on one experience. I have branched out with the knowledge I have to start my own interactive services. I found over the years that dogs thrive in a more interactive setting and some dogs get extremely overwhelmed when constantly surrounded by others. This is a more personal, attentive and enriching experience that not many kennels are able to offer due to excessive capacity. I max out at 6 dogs which allows me to put my time and effort towards every dog individually and allows for a balanced neutral play. Each dog that I take in is based off the last. For example, if I have an intact male, I would have to turn away an intact female and vice versa. Dogs often learn bad behaviors from each other and make up their own rules during play. I take a different approach to this and I'm careful about which personalities I place together to bring out the best in every dog during play sessions. IMPORTANT IMFORMATION: They need to at least be up to date on their first year of vaccines. This includes: Bordetella Distemper Rabies Negative fecal check (Although I do accept titer tests) I do work first shift and I'm typically out by 3pm. TRAINING: I enjoy helping owners and their furry friends build a stronger relationship and bridge their bond through a language they both can understand. A long term commitment doesn't have to mean tolerating each other but instead shaping and growing with one another. Some of the behaviors I work on include: resource guarding, jumping, leash pulling, fear related sensory stimuli, hyperactivity, barking, proper dog play/interactions, chasing fast moving objects/high prey drive...etc. I'm more than willing to go over any more information on what I offer and what may fit you and your pups needs. If you'd like to see the process, I can show a few examples with my own dogs, and of course, yours as well.

Jacquelyn could not have been more wonderful and accommodating. She treated our pup like her own and provided lots of updates and photos. I felt so good about leaving our pup in her care and will absolutely be using her again in the future!

Kodi enjoyed his stay. He came home a little sad because he had daily playtime, walks and loved searching for treats! Until next time!! Thank you Jacquelyn!

It's been such a pleasure having Jacquelyn take care of our Duncan these last couple months! She regularly sends photos/videos and is sure to tell us of any anecdotal stories from that day. It's apparent that she's contributed to his training in a big way. She's intentional about creating a safe environment that is both physically and mentally stimulating. We appreciate her punctuality, flexibility, and clear passion for dog care.

Safety, trust & environment

I send regular updates with pictures and videos when watching your pup, so you can see what they have been up to. The living room area is set up for the pups to hangout and play and I have a small fenced in yard for outside play. They get their own individual personal playtimes, so they take lots of breaks from play. Some dogs don't get along with others, so I do ask for a meet and greet beforehand just to be sure, but I have separated dogs before if it's a last minute need. I have plenty of crates of all sizes and this is where they sleep/eat without being bothered. If they aren't crate trained, that's okay! I make crating extremely positive and we can work on this. If your dog struggles with crating at night, I do allow them to free roam as long as they aren't destructive/I can trust them on their own. I have vet grade cleaner on hand for toy, water dishes and crate cleaning. If you have any other concerns or needs I'm more than happy to address those as well.

Information Jacquelyn S. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know if they are medicated or have any health concerns. I would also need to know if they have ever bitten another dog/human.

A typical day

This is an interactive fun stay for dogs. We do puzzles together, play tug and tons of other activities all while learning group manners. I help dogs who may not understand other dogs' boundaries. I have kongs, toys of all kinds, lick mats, pig ears, dental chews, toys that are interactive/treat dispensers (this is a very natural way for dogs to search for their food and use their natural instincts.) I use low calorie raw freeze dried treats (chicken and beef) milk bones, and chicken jerky. I have a small wobble board I made (mainly for puppies to help them with learning their back legs and for core strength building.) We do confidence building and exercises for mental/physical stimulation. This helps nervous dogs gain confidence by problem solving and helps puppies learn their surroundings through desensitization and helps build body/environmental awareness. Pups get their own time as well as playtime, so they aren't surrounded by others constantly. Some dogs prefer other dogs around, so all depends on what your dog is telling me. For extended stays, I do offer nail trims, bathing and brushing which includes: paw pad conditioning, dematting, and ear cleaning. So let me know if you'd like any of those during their stay. We do outdoor activities and walks down through the Hudsonville nature center if the weather permits.

We are buying land/barn out back and currently in the process of building. Therefore, I am only offering boarding in my home at this time. Someone is always home while I'm away and I'll typically be back around 3pm. Once everything is done, I will be offering all services again and your pup will be thrilled with the new set up! When I'm away, the pups go into their crate and they are given an enrichment toy. They have calming music, a fan and I'm able to watch and talk to them through the camera as well while they are in their crates and of course someone will be frequently letting them out until I get home.
