Pet care experience
I’m very active and passionate about working with animals. Currently, I have a one-year-old Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix and two rescue cats aged 3 and 6. With a large quarter-acre backyard, we spend a lot of time outdoors, playing fetch in local parks, splashing around in lakes and rivers, and engaging in mental stimulation games at home. I’ve raised two puppies and have been around dogs, cats, and even iguanas for most of my life. I would love to exercise and shower love on your pets so they don’t worry when you’re away, and you don’t have to either. I’m eager to help and pride myself on being a great communicator after years of dog sitting and babysitting, specializing in care for children with special needs in my free time. I believe in patience and a nurturing attitude, and these attributes are reflected in my work. I’m also very punctual and attentive to detail, so I’m ready to accommodate anything important to your family.
Reviews

Jacqueline is awesome! My animals loved her, and she provided detailed updates for her visit. 5 stars. Will definitely book again!
Jacqueline did an amazing job of taking care of my cats and home! I’m pretty sure my home was actually cleaner then I left it! She was incredibly responsive, took great pictures, and included an awesome thoughtful write up with every drop in! Her attention to detail and clear love for my pets was incredibly obvious and I will gladly rebook her anytime I have to leave the home!
Jacqueline has walked my dogs for years. They’re excited every time they see her. She handles them well (which is saying something because the big guy likes to pull when a squirrel comes into view), she’s professional and just a friendly person from an interpersonal perspective too. Two enthusiastic thumbs up.

With my flexible work-from-home hours, I’m able to provide a range of pet care services that cater to both my home and my clients’ homes. Whether it’s home visits, dog walks, animal boarding, or staying with your pets in your home, I can easily accommodate your needs. For home visits, I ensure pets are fed, exercised, and given plenty of attention during each visit. If your pet needs a walk, I can schedule those around my workday, providing the physical activity and mental stimulation they need to stay happy and healthy. When it comes to animal boarding, your pets will be welcomed into a home environment where they’ll receive constant care and companionship. My own pets are friendly and well-socialized, so your furry family members will have playmates if they’re comfortable with that. If you prefer that your pets stay in their familiar environment, I’m also available to stay at your home. This allows your pets to maintain their usual routine, reducing stress while you’re away. Regardless of the service, I always prioritize the well-being and comfort of your pets, treating them as if they were my own.

Information Jacqueline S. would like to know about your pet
Before providing pet care services, it’s important for me to know a few key details about your pets to ensure I can meet their needs and keep them comfortable and safe. Here’s what I’d like to know ahead of time: Temperament and Behavior: How does your pet typically behave around new people, other animals, or in unfamiliar environments? Are there any triggers that might cause anxiety or aggression? Routine and Preferences: What’s your pet’s daily routine like, including feeding times, exercise, and bathroom breaks? Do they have any favorite toys, activities, or places to visit? Health and Diet: Are there any health conditions, allergies, or medications I should be aware of? What kind of food does your pet eat, and are there any dietary restrictions? Training and Commands: Does your pet respond to specific commands or training cues? Are there any behaviors you’re currently working on that I should reinforce? Special Needs: Does your pet have any special needs, such as mobility issues, special feeding instructions, or anxiety when left alone? Emergency Contacts: In case of an emergency, who should I contact? Do you have a preferred vet or any specific instructions for handling emergencies? Knowing these details helps me provide the best possible care for your pets, ensuring they stay happy, healthy, and safe while you’re away.
A typical day
When watching pets, I love to engage them in a variety of fun activities tailored to their individual personalities and energy levels. For dogs, I often start with a walk or a game of fetch in the park to burn off some energy. If they enjoy water, we might head to a nearby lake or river for a swim, which is both great exercise and lots of fun. I also incorporate mental stimulation activities, such as puzzle toys, scent work, and training exercises, which help keep them engaged and happy. For cats, I like to play with interactive toys that mimic prey, such as feather wands or laser pointers, to satisfy their hunting instincts. In addition to outdoor adventures, I make sure to provide plenty of cuddle time, belly rubs, and general affection to help them feel loved and secure. My goal is to ensure that every pet I watch has a fun, enriching experience that makes them feel like part of the family.

Pet care is deeply integrated into my daily routine, especially since I work from home. I’m fortunate to be able to structure my day around the needs of my pets, ensuring they get plenty of mental and physical stimulation throughout the day. I start each morning with a walk or a play session in our large backyard, followed by interactive games that challenge my pets mentally. Since I rarely leave home for more than a few hours at a time—only to run quick errands—I'm always available to attend to their needs. My workday often revolves around caring for them, whether it’s taking breaks to play fetch in the park, going for a swim in nearby lakes, or engaging in training sessions. This routine ensures that they’re happy, healthy, and well-cared for, which is something I take great pride in.
