Animals of all kinds warm my heart!
Pet care experience
I have been taking care of pets since I was as young as 7. During my entire life thus far, I have always had a cat(s) where I have lived, usually 2. In July of 2016, I rescued a wonderful cat, Frankie, who had many health issues. He was obese, had kidney disease, and endured a lot of trauma from his previous owner. I rehabilitated him and we quickly became best friends! What once was an anxious cat, soon became very social, got along with dogs, and loved everyone he met. Unfortunately he passed away on December 30, 2021. Furthermore, I had another cat during my time with Frankie, Peanut, who lived to be 18! Frankie and Peanut got along very well. I have always made sure to take my cats to their yearly vet appointment, though Frankie had to go for laser treatments for his kidneys, as well as take medication for intestinal issues. I am unsure if many others would have rescued Frankie due to his health issues. He was such a joy to be around. I even taught him some tricks! In addition to owning and taking care of cats throughout my life, my childhood best friend is an animal specialist. She has always owned dogs and cats alike, as well as reptiles. I bonded with her dogs growing up as if they were my own! One of my favorite things to do in life, is be around dogs. If a dog approaches me while in any location, I always make sure to ask their owner if I could interact with them. I feel so enthused and energetic around dogs! While I do not own a dog currently, I would love to in the future. My sister owns various breeds of snakes, too, and while they’re not a furry friend, they are surely loved by her and I alike. My bond with animals is one of my favorite aspects of life.

Jacqueline is a very loving and caring person. She loves animals and when she comes in contact with dogs they pick up her loving energy. She would be an asset to Rover.com. Please consider her.

Safety, trust & environment
Pele has a very fun, relaxing environment where my parents live. She has a 5-level cat tree, multiple interactive toys, clean water and scheduled meal times, and plenty of quality time with my parents, as well as myself when I visit. Pele is an indoor cat, but there is a screened-in porch door at the residence, where she is able to get all-day fresh air. She loves it! She can even watch the birds from her cat tree, as it is adjacent to this door/window.
Information Jacqueline G. would like to know about your pet
Any special needs is great to know, as well as any health issues. It is also good to know about any behavioral issues or quirks, that we can discuss working on! I am open to all scenarios.
A typical day
As an active person with a love for nature, I have many places I love to walk. Ames Nowell State Park, Pond Meadow, The Sheep Pasture, and The Boston Commons are some of my favorites! I can provide toys for the dogs (or cats) to play with; such as, a rope to play a stimulating game of tug of war or a basic ball to play fetch! The opportunities are endless, depending on what the dog-owner finds most suitable for their furry friend!

My mom adopted a cat, Pele, a few weeks after Frankie’s passing. She needed a home, as she was contacted by the animal shelter in which Frankie was rescued and was told Pele was just surrendered. I moved into a new home with my lovely other half, but I still make time to visit my parents and Pele a couple times a week! She is a very sweet cat and loved by us all. My family and I are good friends with the manager of the particular shelter mentioned, as we have known them since I was just a baby. During my adolescence and as an adult, I would spend my time their taking dogs on a walk, or simply would sit in their designated cat room for an hour or two to interact with the cats. Doing this was not only an enjoyable way to spend some free time, but also rewarding knowing that a dog or cat felt loved at the shelter. My hope for all rescues is for them to be adopted by a loving and responsible pet-owner(s). Also, I often help stray cats if I come across them in my travels, though I first go through proper services to see if said cat is simply lost. If the cat is indeed a stray, I then let said respective services (or additional services, if need be) know that there is a cat in need of a home. The shelter I mentioned has taken in multiple strays I have come across throughout my life, to later found out they were adopted! Simply put, animals are not only a part of my daily routine, they are a part of my life! I could not imagine a life without animals!
