Pet care experience
I've taken care of dogs and cats since I was a child. Growing up we always had at least two dogs and one or two cats and I was responsible for their care. My 15 year old cat passed away last year and I served as his primary care-giver. I became quite skilled in delivering medicine to him in the final years of his life and would feel comfortable doing so for your pet if needed. I currently have a 20 pound Shih Tzu who LOVES all other animals and people so she'd be an ideal play date. Last fall I adopted a 12 pound, 8 year old pekingese/shih tzu mix that is also happy and willing to play with other dogs after a little bit of warming up. I frequently dog sit my friends' Jack Russell and the three of them love to play and share toys.

Jacqueline did a great job feeding and loving my two cats while I was away! The shy cat even came out to say hi to her! The photos she took of the cats were great to see.

I am so glad we choose Jacqueline Elise as our pet sitter. My shy cat really loved her, it was comforting to know he was being well taken care of. She was quick to respond and gave detailed updates on my cat. She went above and beyond and was happy to water my house plants for me as well.

I live in a large apartment with a small front yard but I also live in a dog friendly neighborhood in which to take longer walks. My yard is not fenced in but I am within walking distance of the rail trail and a dog park. I'm also amenable to car rides to other parks and hiking areas if your pet would enjoy that. I've also got small and medium sized sweaters and coats for doggies that may get cold during the winter months. If your pet is crate training, there is plenty of space to set up their crate as well. Otherwise, house-trained dogs are free to hang out with my dogs in the apartment during the day if I'm not home.

My main concern with dog sitting is how well dogs I'm sitting interact with my own dogs. I need to ensure that they are safe and happy, so an initial meet and greet will be necessary before accepting any new clients. Also, while my apartment is large, it's still an apartment, so dogs 40 pounds or less are preferred, both for my comfort and the comfort of your dog.
A typical day
Since I live in a pet friendly neighborhood, daily walks are a given. I'm also up for longer walks on the rail trail or short hikes if your dog enjoys those activities. I've got plenty of chewy toys to play with and a long yard ideal for playing fetch.

Availability
I currently work full time (8-5) but I'm able to go home during lunch hours for walks, pets, and other needs as necessary. I've got two dogs, so I make walking and feeding them on time a priority, and I'll do the same for your pet. Most weekends I'm home during the day, barring any errands I may need to run, so I'm free most weekends for visits and walks.
