Pet care experience
I’ve taken care of dogs since I was 9. My parents and I have been guide dog puppy trainers/homers between 2014 to 2020. We would take them in as puppies and house them until they were old enough to go off to training. In more recent years we adopted two failed guide dogs to be our full time dogs, have lived, loved and looked after them until I moved over to the UK from New Zealand in August 2022

Jackson was lovely - and even came to meet Charlie ahead of time to get him familiarised.
Jackson was a wonderful pet caregiver and took exceptional care of our Remy (Golden Doodle). He even offered to come meet myself and Remy before looking after her. He was punctual, friendly, responsible and provided us with updates of how she was doing. I could not recommend him enough!
Jackson is a friend of mine who has looked after my dogs when I’ve needed him to over the last few years. He has a passion for animals and my dogs always super happy to see him. He is very reliable, easy going and has always been available for me.

I live in an apartment that has a security gate and a lock door. Unfortunately we don’t have a backyard, however I do live a couple minutes walk away from a park. I care for pets with respect and love, having trained guide dogs I understand how they can be trained with care and patience but not punished for their wrong doings. I’m a massive believer that a dog should be walked twice a day and that it’s gives me more of a reason to get out and about. I also enjoy having a pal to relax with, not only giving myself and them company.

A typical day
I love going to open parks and spending time in the sun (although the sun might be tough to find sometimes in London). Spending time walking through the park reminds me of back home in New Zealand and equally gives the dogs I look after enough space to run around and meet other dogs.

Availability
There’s nothing more I love than getting out of the house and going for a walk. I work from home Mondays, Wednesdays and some times Friday, so getting out of the house when I can to get away from work and get some fresh air is important to me. My work is also flexible with when I work, so I can work in with others schedules. I take frequent breaks and don’t like spending time at home alone so it’s always good to have a buddy to hang out with.
