I come highly recommended by my dog

Pet care experience

I am new here to Rover but far from new when it comes to caring for pets. Anyone who knows me knows my love for animals. I have had dogs and cared for them my entire life. Everything from walking, bathing, feeding, playing, administering medications (including injections), and most importantly providing them with love and attention and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and happy in their environment. Caring for and spending time with animals is truly my passion. I have experience with all ages and breeds as I have historically worked and volunteered at shelters and have been a foster as well. I have extensive experience with senior dogs. I have two dogs of my own, an almost 15 year old mixed breed rescue and another 2 year old mixed breed rescue. They are very sweet boys and would love friends to help keep company. I will treat your babies as I would my own. I always have my phone with me and will respond quickly to any communications. You can expect to receive plenty of photos, videos, and detailed updates to let you know how your baby is doing. It would be a pleasure for me to ease the minds of other pet parents, as I know how hard it can be to relax when you have to leave your pets behind whether for work or fun.

Jackie is amazing! I have never wanted to leave my pets and if it wasn’t for her I would’ve never gone on a vacation! From the “meet & greet”, I knew she was the greatest fit for my sweet dogs and cat! She went above and beyond what was even asked of her, especially when it came to the puppy and the unexpected accidents she had never done before in her kennel while we were away! She took so many pictures and all my pets looked so happy!! I will definitely be using her again!! Thank you Jackie for everything! You are the absolute best!

Safety, trust & environment

Check-In's at your home - I am very responsible, detail oriented and hypersensitive to pet safety. I will make sure no door or gate gets left open and I will keep a close eye on your pet at all times while they are in my care. I will respect your home and follow any instructions on how to care for your pet and I will make sure your home is just as clean as when you left it. I am very gentle and patient with animals and even the most timid or skittish of animals usually warm up to me very quickly. Walking - I take my two 75lb dogs on at least 2-3 walks a day. I have experience walking all kinds of dogs, in all stages of life, and with a variety of temperaments, as this was my main duty as a shelter volunteer. If your dog has a lot of energy, I can run or walk them as far as needed or take them to a safe area to get their zoomies out. If you have a senior who just likes slow and relaxed, I love a leisurely walk as well. And if your dog is not quite leash trained yet, I can help train them and maintain their safety in the process. Boarding & Doggie Daycare: We have a spacious fenced in yard and two very friendly dogs to keep your fur baby company. They are both around 75 lbs but they both have very calm, gentle demeanors and play well with dogs of all sizes. We can easily crate your dog upon request, but they are welcome to treat our home as their own. The dogs are allowed on our furniture as long as they are clean. We also have dog beds and toy baskets in just about every room of our home so it’s extremely dog friendly. We take the dogs out at least every two hours for potty breaks in the fenced yard. We also have a screened in back porch that the dogs like to sit out on when the weather is nice.

Information Jackie S. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know what your dog likes to do most, in what kind of setting they are most comfortable, if you are comfortable with them going on car rides, any dietary restrictions, their favorite kinds of toys or treats, and any specific needs or limitations that your dog may have so that I can accommodate accordingly. It’s also very helpful to know of anything that may trigger your dog as well so I can be sure to avoid those things all together for your pets' comfort and safety. For example, if your dog gets overwhelmed easily then they may prefer to go on a walk by themselves or chase a ball alone in our backyard vs going to a dog park or doing a more social activity.

A typical day

I take my own dogs on at least two walks or outings a day so we frequent a variety of different trails and/or dog parks in the area. You name it, we probably go there. We also take walks in our neighborhood. We live in a cul-de-sac that is not highly trafficked. We are also members of a privately owned gated lake nearby where the dogs like to swim if your dog enjoys that. We also have a fenced in yard at the house with lots of squeaky toys, tennis balls, sticks, a doggie pool, and there is also a small trail in the woods that we walk in our backyard.

Availability

My schedule varies but is flexible. I make sure to keep my calendar up to date at least 2 weeks out. I am typically available on most weekdays and some weekends. For boarding or doggie daycare, my husband and I both have very flexible schedules so at least one, if not both of us, are usually always home. We also have Furbo cameras in the house so we can check in on them or toss them a treat if we run out for an errand.
