Dog Training Included!
Pet care experience
Hello and thanks for checking out my page! I'm an experienced dog trainer who used to teach basic obedience and housetraining in a retail setting prior to striking out on my own. I am committed to positive reinforcement techniques and fear-free interactions, and I value patience and creativity in shaping a pet's behavior. Because I'm always reading your pet's body language, I can give them as much space as possible when they are nervous or stressed or anticipate and try to redirect problem behaviors like jumping up out of excitement. If you're looking for regular weekly bookings, I can also teach your dog cues like sit, down, and stay, or how to walk on the leash without pulling or crossing sides. In addition to my experience with dogs, I'm also a cat mom and have had cats for most of my adult life. I can't promise to train them, but I promise they can train me! I will give them as much space or distance as they require, and I usually have cat treats and toys with me as well.
Reviews
Jackie is amazing. My Bailey is so happy when she comes. She goes above and beyond each visit.
Jackie is fabulous and my cat loved her. Will definitely book again.
She does an amazing job with our pets and communicates well anything that’s going on.
Honestly, you can’t ask for any better!

Safety, trust & environment
In meeting a new pet, my first step is always trying to create a sense of security and fun. I try to personalize the experience for each pet based on their comfort level with me in the home. A happy-go-lucky cat or dog will get lots of belly rubs, a play session, and maybe work on a cue or two. A nervous pet will have their boundaries respected and be enticed to greet me with a gentle voice as I drop a treat off and step away so they can retrieve it. Habits like barking and jumping for attention will be ignored, but as soon as their paws hit the floor or they stop barking to take a breath, they'll receive lots of praise and a healthy treat. Pet parents will receive detailed notes on how their pet responded to my visit, so they can track their pet's progress over time.
Information Jackie N. would like to know about your pet
The most important things for me to learn about your dog are what your training goals are. If your dog is reactive to other animals or people, knowing that will help me plan my approach for your visit or develop a longer term training plan for you and your dog. Please let me know about any food allergies, weight concerns, or dietary restrictions, so that I can plan to bring appropriate treats for your pets (cats included!)
A typical day
For all of my bookings, I like to bring fun treats - it's the fastest way to your pet's heart! I'll always ask about any allergies or dietary restrictions first, so that the treats are healthy for your pet. If your pet is comfortable with me, we will usually play fun games whether we are walking together or just enjoying a drop-in visit. We can explore new routes on our walks or play a rousing game of fetch on a visit. If you'd like your dog to have a fun outing, we can visit a nearby park or trail as well!

Availability
While my son is in school, I'm generally available for drop-in visits and walks, and I have some morning and evening availability for folks who are traveling as well. However, I do have conflicts Wednesday and Thursday evenings, as well as Sunday afternoons.
