I worked at a kennel, now I am one!

Pet care experience

This could be an opportunity of a lifetime for you and your pet! Prolong their lives, reduce their (and your!) stress levels, and create a peaceful home by hiring an experienced helping hand to provide loving care to your pets! Hi! My name is Jackie, and I have an extraordinary passion for animals. Nothing else in the world makes me happier. I've always been an animal-lover! Feel free to contact me at any time regarding my pet services, availability, and rates. More about me: I live in Glenview. For 6 months, I worked for a cage-free boarding and day care center, where I learned all about how to care for dogs safely and compassionately while their owners were away. There was an indoor space for the dogs and a large yard for us to play and run in! I was even offered a position as a Veterinary Technician Apprentice by one of my clients, but turned it down because I do work part- to full-time. Because I work, I have my parents help me out. They love the gig, the dogs, and the side-cash, too! I work well with all dogs, and am proficient at handling, grooming, and obedience training. From a young age, I worked as a stable hand, which kindled my love for animals. People I've met before have told me that their dogs "have never acted so calm" around anybody. No "dog whispering" going on here! It's just who I am! Questions, comments, and feedback are always appreciated!

Jackie took care of our elderly Labrador, who required extra attention and our corgi for 12 days. She is absolutely terrific, and we should know, as our doggies' dad is a veterinarian! The pups loved Jackie and it was evident they were treated well and were even bathed for our return. She also made a trip to our vet clinic for refill on some meds and prescription food. Thanks Jackie!!

We loved Jackie and Blaze had a blast with the other dogs. She also kept us updated with Blazes adventures during his stay with her. She was very flexible and understanding in letting Blaze spend an additional night with her when we couldn't make it back on time to pick him up.

Information Jackie M. would like to know about your pet

I love all dogs. I have been around all types of dogs. However: I ESPECIALLY love dogs that are friendly, snuggly, and/or like to play fetch or go to the park! We'll get as active as possible together, including with other dogs at my home (if possible) and elsewhere! I live near a forest preserve and the Gilson Park Dog Beach on Lake Michigan! If your pup isn't up to that, that's okay! We can chill at home with family, in our big family room or in our large, fenced-in backyard with Penny and Lucie! All dogs must be up-to-date on their shots/vaccinations, and I ask all of my clients to provide me with copies of their pet's or pets' most recent vaccinations. Mounting is never allowed under my care. It is the owner's responsibility to provide preventative care for their dog. Please see Rover's insurance policy for more information.

A typical day

Meet & Greet (as requested): - I ask that we meet somewhere where your pet will feel comfortable. A public place that is neutral territory for your pets, however, in-home Meet & Greets are okay by me, too! Meet & Greets with me typically last about 15 minutes to an hour. - I will bring my own questionnaire, which you can fill out to your level of comfort. - Please have your pet's or pets' medical records handy, as well as any questions you may have for me! Day-to-day life: - lots of playing (we play fetch in my backyard!) - going on walks and runs 2-3 times per day for about 15+ minutes - going on adventures to the park, dog beach, hiking trails nearby - snuggling - 24/7 care and attention - compassion and affection - feedings, as you request your pet to be fed! (I typically feed twice per day at around 7AM and 7PM) - medical care and safety awareness - treats for a job well-done! (if that's okay with you!)
