I have loved and have owned pets my entire life, I actually don't think I could go any part of my life without having a little best friend around or2 (I have 2 atm, Belle and Rollie). It goes without saying though that I do not just give the kindness and love deserved to my own dogs or dogs that are a part of my family, but every dog that I come into contact with. They are the greatest gift on earth. I currently own a Shih-Tzu/Bichon Frise named Belle, along with Rollie, a Shar Pei rescue. I have found that with my own experience as someone who has had dogs around me my entire life, I tend to not go with the "boot camp" approach, although I wouldn't knock it given some poor souls do struggle with their behaviour around others, I treat every dog I come into contact with as a friend, the more you make a dog feel not above but at a level with you, the more they will respect you.
