Hello! My name is Ivy and I'm very excited to be part of the Rover community! I’ve always had a great connection with animals since I was little. I was raised beside them since my family has always had all kinds of pets. My dad and I rescued my first dog when I was 12 years old. He was my best friend for almost 13 years until he passed away due to complications with cancer in 2022. Caring for him espcially in his golden years has made me even more passionate about helping as many animals as I can. Over the years my family and I have fostered and pet-sat dogs of all sizes and personalities, along with dozens of cats. I have experience treating pets with fungal or bacterial infections and I’m skilled in administering both oral and topical medications. I’ve also cared for my own diabetic cat, learning how to give insulin injections and monitor blood glucose levels at home. I've TNR and cared for the neighborhood street cats, thanks to the the ASPCA and other programs for providing free / low-cost veterinary services. I’ve also fostered kittens and young cats until they found safe, loving homes. I’m familiar with dogs at every stage, from gentle seniors, high-energy pups and giant breeds. No matter their temperament or health condition, I’ve worked with dogs from all walks of life.
