Positive Reinforcement Dog Trainer

Pet care experience

I'm a Positive Reinforcement Dog Trainer and specialize in training Off Leash & Recall, Loose Leash Walks, Puppy Board and Train as well as the family dog. I also work with fearful dogs as well as resource guarders. I’m Canine CPR/First Aid Trained, KPA Trained, Dog Tec Graduate - Dog Walking Academy, Bonded and Insured (outside of Rover), completed courses with Dr. Ian Dunbar "SIRIUS Dog Training Academy," "Science Based Dog Training," "Reliability and Games Dog Training Workshops," and continue to take courses to help me speak dog!!! :) I see clients 1:1 for Positive Reinforcement Dog Training for several behavioral issues. In addition, I Board and Train puppies and adult dogs starting at 12 weeks of age. My goal is to insure your fur baby is just as loved as if you’re were home with them. They are family and technically, they are our babies who never grow up. Being in their company is a privilege and I cherish my time with them. Eventually, I'd like them to see me as the Aunt Ivy who comes and spoils them once in awhile. I have many repeat clients who have become like family to me. I hold a Bachelor’s in International Business from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and it was during university that fueled my passion to work with animals. As far as trustworthiness, I've been a licensed R.E. Agent since 2002. I also work from home as an Investment Analyst for private Real Estate Investors. I own my own home. I've owned 5 homes in the past including 2 investment properties. My homes are dog centric. My dogs and visiting dogs are welcome in all my furniture and bed. ESSENTIALLY, your dog will be staying with a Positive Reinforcement Dog Trainer. That means they’ll be staying with a Dog Pro as opposed to someone who doesn’t have the same level of training and experience. Your dog will get reinforced and be exposed to Positive Reinforced Training only.

Ivy was referred to us by another client of hers. We have a rescue who is fearful and didn’t like my husband and my oldest son. We were leaving for Hawaii and we’re in a bind as we didn’t want to leave Charlie with just anyone. We needed someone with experience. Ivy was amazing and she really taught us a lot about dog behavior and after our first consult with her, Charlie was sitting between my husband and son. He willingly laid down between them!!! And with her coaching, after 2 days, Charlie was taking treats from my son and husband. And the progress has been incredible! Can’t speak highly enough of Ivy. She agreed to board Charlie for the 11 days we were gone. Charlie’s confidence level had increased dramatically and we saw videos of him doing play bows with her dogs. It was honestly heartwarming! Charlie has never done that in the 9months we’ve had him!

Ivy is a godsend! We were so sad to have to leave our Boston Terrier pup over the holidays but as soon as we met Ivy we knew he’d be in excellent hands. Ivy is clearly a dog lover and expert caretaker. Our pup got tons of exercise and cuddles while we were away and Ivy sent us great photos and videos throughout their time together. I would highly recommend Ivy to anyone. Thanks so much, Ivy!

Ivy goes above and beyond!!!! She took great care of Brewster over Thanksgiving. I loved getting all the videos and photos. Really appreciative of giving us a worry free family vacation. The best experience we’ve ever had!!!

Thanksgiving LIFESAVER! Thank you sooooooo much for being so accommodating on our last minute trip and multiple flight changes. Our flight plans were so stressful and our family reunion trip started out so stressful that you were such a GOD SEND!!! Felt absolutely relieved that my Bella and Morton were in exceptional hands. You literally saved me so much from stressing over their care. The videos and multiple photos really helped us be at ease. They had so much fun that my guilt of leaving them quickly dissipated. Can’t thank you enough and I’m grateful I kept your number from last summer. Please please please always have time for us. Can’t ever leave the dogs with anyone else but you. You are simply amazing!!!!
