I often get the "wow, she/he doesn't usually like anyone right away. But she/he loves you!" line when I first meet dogs as well as other animals. I enjoy all aspects of caring for and playing with dogs. Since I was born I've had dogs as part of our family and off and on throughout my adult life as well. My perspective on animals of any kind is based on equal vision, so I'm compassionate to their needs and do not view dogs as lower forms of life. Rather, just different forms of life who deserve love, attention and should have the option of having fun - so I'm happy to be the one they view as their buddy for playing in the yard, etc.
