Pet care experience
I just moved back to the city and my cats and I are ready to take on the world! I’ve been taking care of pets since I was 3 years old! I’ve had two dogs, five hamsters (who all lived long, happy lives), a gerbil, snails, and fish I rescued from my high school biology class. Currently, I have two cats Smokey and Tiabeanie - Bean for short. I also have a new succulent named Dragon, a jar of moss, and a colony of rice weevils in a jar. They’re considered pests but they’re completely harmless, low maintenance, and they’ve got such cute snoots :) the colony’s name is Mason. I’ve done babysitting (I got my a babysitting certification when I was 12), dog walking, and pet sitting for many family and friends. I even took care of my friend’s chameleon once! In 2019 I lived in the city of Chicago and did Rover full time over the summer. I got to interact with a ton of great pets and their humans, it was a very rewarding experience! I love all animals, no matter how creepy-crawley or “fugly” they are. Each pet always has something special to give and teach us. My friend and her mom love to foster dogs and volunteer at a shelter. It’s really inspired me to be more involved in the pet community and appreciate the love my companions give me. Pets have a spirit like no other. They connect you to what’s real and to what life is really about. They will always be a part of you and they always know how to give that extra little bit of happiness to your day. Let me take care of them, so they can take care of you :)
Reviews
Iuma was great to work with! She took great care of Stevie and made sure to send us frequent pics and videos while we were away. She was house sitting and left the place in great shape and even helped take care of our plants while we were away. Highly recommend!
Luma is absolutely phenomenal! She followed all instructions to a T and made sure to send plenty of pictures and videos. She’s become my dog’s best friend! We can’t wait to book with her again :)
Thank you again!
Iuma was very friendly and kind and patient with Franklyn as they got to know each other.

I usually meet my clients beforehand and go over basic needs their animal has. I take things slow and allow the animal to get used to my presence before taking them on walks or petting them. Even with only walking, I try to play with them a little bit before I leave for the day and make sure their water and food bowl are clean and full. Any medications needed will be administered with patience and care!
Information Iuma G. would like to know about your pet
Are there any medications they need? Any special needs? Physical/mental health issues? Are they aggressive? If so, what type of aggressive (i.e.: dog aggressive, people aggressive, etc.)? Are they a flight risk (will they dash out an open door)? Allergies? Nearest vet? Favorite toys and treats? Food specifications? Off-limit places? Behaviors to watch for (i.e.: digging, eating things they shouldn’t, getting in somewhere they like to and shouldn’t go, etc.)? Any plants I need to water?
A typical day
When they say work hard, play hard - I say why not both! Show me their favorite toy and it’s on. I always try to provide fun and variety with games, walks, and play. Hide and seek is a favorite in my household and I love playing it with my client’s pets too. I’ve even done photo shoots and video montages of our time together! Check out the pictures in my profile. As a digital media production minor, I can’t resist taking a million photos and videos. It’s incredibly rewarding when I’m able to teach them a trick or two as well! The best part of the job is when they start to really show their personality and quirks. If I’m lucky, I’m able to catch a pic of them at their most goofy. It’s always a delight!

I earned my bachelor’s degree in December 2022 and after taking an easy year I decided to move back to the city with the help of a friend. My final decision came down to providing a better life for myself and my cats. We moved in January 1st of this year and they are absolutely loving our new home. They have ample room to run and play and have taken full advantage. I clean their litter boxes every other day like clockwork. They’re free feeders so I just make sure they have food and water any time I pass their bowls in the kitchen. We play at least a little every day and they sleep with me in my bed at night on their own little pillows.
