I have spent all of my life with animals, dogs & cats specifically. I have been pet-sitting since I was about 14 years old. I have stayed in house, visited multiple times daily, walked pups and more. I have both a dog and cat of my own and know how to provide the mental & physical stimulation needed to keep your pets happy!

Islay won over our cats and they asked us to take more vacations so she can come over to care for them! 😂 Islay sends little notes to let me know what both cats are doing and pictures to show that they are eating (it’s kind of a given cuz they are food motivated but I appreciate seeing that they are relaxed in her presence). She even does the little quirky game we do with one cat with his snacks to just get him moving a little more. We can enjoy our time away knowing that our cats are so well cared for. Thank you, Islay!!
We had a wonderful trip knowing the cats were being watched by Islay. We got pictures showing her interaction with them and showing how excited they were to get their evening pate rather than just have kibble while we were gone! Given the one cat is 15 and has few teeth, we knew he was at least fed but he even let her give him a few scratches on the back (he’s a grumpy old man). Thank you, Islay!

I prefer to care for pets in their own home, either checking in or overnight if needed. I find that animals tend to be more comfortable and free of anxiety when they are in their own environment, and it is important to me to align myself with that comfort. I am able to provide any toys, treats and other items needed.

Generally speaking, I like to know a little about a pet’s personality before watching them! I want to make sure I am doing anything possible to make sure they’re comfortable with me and I feel as though this is a key part of doing so.
A typical day
Being a pup parent myself, I love to work with dogs in realms of both mental and physical stimulation! Brain puzzles like Kong toys or licky mats are my favorite stimulative activities and I am happy to work these into my visits with your pets if requested!
