This was my first bad experience with a dog sitter from Rover. Isha boarded my dog during the week of Thanksgiving. I told her in advance I would drop my dog off between 7- 8 am Friday morning. When I contacted her Thursday night to say I should be there by 7:30, she said she had to take her Mother to a Dr.'s appt at 8 and could I bring her at 5 am...This is very early and I was about to take a 12 hour drive so I told her no that was too early and said I could bring her that night. She said that was fine, I also paid her for that night, even through I felt it was her fault I had to bring her a day early, because she never mentioned the appt until Thursday night. As soon as I left Angel she began texting me with questions. She was concerned about her not eating. I told her she might not eat for a day or two due to separation anxiety, then on Saturday she said she started throwing up. Sometimes she will do this if she has eaten grass, so I wasn't concerned, I just told her she will stop. On Sunday night she said she still isn't eating and is still throwing up. She didn't say how often or how much, but said she wanted me to pick her up. I was over 12 hours away and now I needed to either come back or find somewhere else for my dog to stay. I immediately began making calls on Monday morning, this is the week of Thanksgiving, and of course everywhere was booked. I finally found a vet's office that could take her. I normally never leave her at Vet's offices, because I hate her being locked up, but I didn't have a choice. A friend picked her up and took her to the vet, where she ate her food the first day and never threw up the entire time. Isha and I agreed that rather than her cancelling the reservation and either of us being charged a fee, once she was paid by Rover she would return the remaining balance to me. I have not heard from her since the day my friend picked Angel up, I have texted her personal number more than once and I have sent her a message on this site, which now says she is away. I am not pressed about the money, but I am upset about being lied to and I truly feel that she just couldn't keep Angel for the rest of the week, because she had other plans. She seemed to be very inexperienced with dogs and I blame my self also, because I will never use anyone else without any reviews. I hope the money she kept was worth it...I would not recommend her to anyone!!
