Licensed Veterinary Technician

Pet care experience

* Please note: Even if my schedule does not appear to fit your current needs, I absolutely always encourage you to reach out to me regarding my availability-- I will respond in a timely manner. My work and school schedule change frequently (so it doesn't always work out, and at times my calendar is inaccurate) but please don't hesitate to check in with me! Hello! My name is Isabelle. I'm a licensed veterinary technician with over 8 years of full-time experience (I currently work at Chuckanut Feline Center in Bellingham and Chuckanut Valley Veterinary in Burlington). I'm back in college pursuing a nursing degree. I'm new to Rover! I'm hoping to have it as a way to earn a little extra to help with tuition/living costs. I've done intermittent pet sitting for years and have always enjoyed it. I truly enjoy being outdoors with my own dog, and look forward to it everyday. I would love to enrich your animals lives also while you're away or busy. I have experience with multiple species, ranging from dogs and cats to exotic pets (birds, pocket pets) and reptiles (minimal experience). Chickens or various farm animals are also a possibility. *(My experience and knowledge is predominately dogs and cats; however, I have mild-moderate experience with the other species stated). In addition to house-sitting or drop-in visits, I also can take your dog to safe, lovely off-leash local trails to burn off excess energy, as I frequent these trails with my personal dog (such as Lake Padden or Whatcom Falls off-leash trails); however, I will always ask you permission prior to taking your dog to such places. I have a dog-friendly vehicle and can comfortably provide transportation for up to 2-3 medium-large sized dogs (in addition to my own dog riding in the car). I have a lot of experience caring for animals in all aspects, both basic and veterinary. My services offered include (but are not limited to): Administering any/all medications or injections, bandage changes, subcutaneous fluid administration, bathing (just basic baths, nothing fancy), toenail trims, anal gland expressions, basic de-matting-- (NOT full haircuts, just shaving off bothersome matts if tolerated- I'm not a groomer, so it won't be fancy)-- you name it! I've likely done it, and will gladly do my best to accommodate you and your pets' needs. *Please note this is based on your personal animals temperament and tolerance for these services, in addition to my ability to perform these services with limited help. *Please contact me regarding pricing for the more specific services- I will always do my best to keep a flat rate to keep things as simple as possible, but this will depend on your animal's needs and extent of additional services. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions! I'm happy to answer any and all you may have. Isabelle

Information Isabelle K. would like to know about your pet

* No breed preferences at all. * For house-sitting/drop-in visits: Please let me know if your dog is dog-aggressive or overly dog-reactive. (I don't mind dogs that are grumpy with other dogs-- at all! It's just important for me to know ahead of time as I frequently prefer/often have my personal dog with me for dog-walks or house-sits; however, this is absolutely NOT a requirement. Please reach out to me if you prefer one-on-one only care with your animal). * For house-sitting or additional services only: Please let me know you do NOT prefer outside company in your home. While this is uncommon, I have my significant other that I may call on for help with services such as toenail trims or anal gland expressions, etc, or for personal visits during my extended house-sitting stays. I respect your home and privacy, and if you would prefer to have no additional people in your home or property, I will absolutely honor this- no questions asked.

A typical day

* I unfortunately do not have a fenced yard, so I will prefer to take your dog on off-leash trails, leashed walks around my home, or to my friend's home, which is close by and has a large, fenced yard. * Your dog will likely be in the company of at least 1-3 dogs (my dog, +/- my boyfriend's dog (young neutered male heeler mix), and/or my roomate's dog (adult spayed female boxer) unless you prefer otherwise. *All 3 of these dogs extremely friendly, playful, and fully vaccinated; and are sure to show your dog a fun time. I cannot guarantee that the other dogs on the off-leash trails will be, but I've never had a problem in the past. Possible locations we'll go: -Padden loop trail (leashed) or -Padden off-leash trails-- a great place for dogs to burn off some serious energy, especially since there will be at least 2+ dogs with me (including yours). If this is where we go, prepare for your dog to come home wiped! :) - Point Whitehorn (large open field out near Blaine- very safe, not popular spot. Safe for dogs to be off leash as long as they recall well). (If I plan on taking them somewhere, I'll check with you first to ensure I have your permission. I'll be sure to inform of you of the location we plan to go to that day).
