As an ACA (Animal Care Assistant) at Stone Ridge Veterinary Hospital I get to work with canines at every stage in their lives. Being able to recognize signs of Fear/Anxiety/Stress is, to me, extremely important especially when it comes to handling pets that do not know me/see me on a regular basis, and I can use my knowledge of Fear-Free approaching to even your most nervous of fur babies! In having a dachshund to love growing up for 11 years, my experience with dogs goes as far as I can remember. While in college in New York City I volunteered at a cat rescue administering medications and supervising play. In Rochester, I began dog sitting and eventually working at a doggy daycare and training facility supervising large play groups as well as getting experience with boarding/kennel. With the help of the amazing Nuts for Mutts rescue organization, I fostered a bichon/poodle mix until he found a new forever home and hopefully I will have the opportunity to help any family looking to adopt or just needing assistance with the adoption process. At home, I get to cuddle with a cat named Elijah– but I need more pups in my life! Working at a vet hospital is incredibly rewarding and I can't imagine my life without taking care of animals in any way I can help.
